Question about Canon PIXMA MP190 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I've just installed 2 new Canon cartridges in my MP190 printer. They are original Canon PG50 and PG51 but I keep getting an error message saying they can't be recognised. What do I do now?

New ink cartridges are installed. No error messages but printer not scanning or printing. I have deep cleansed it twice.

Scanning isn't related to the cartridges problem unless you meant copying. The instructions to align the cartridges might help, if it insists on alignment after new cartridges are added.

Did you remove the (usually pink) tabs from the cartridges before installing?
Did you get a printout from a test page or from the cleaning operation?
Also try a removal, then reinstall of the device.

I installed a new black catridge. The error(E) keeps coming up. can u help me

MP190, u must be using PG40, CL41 for your printer.

Well, if you used brand new original cartridge you should have any problem.
(except, some mechanical problem occurs)

If you not, may be used competible, or refilled cartridge, you may have to face some cartridge error, called e5 error.

What this is "cartridge is not readable at the printer" due to not proper cartridge has been used.
In this case, there is no other solution except buying new cartridge.

The only way is prevent from e5 error occurs.
1. Always "unplug" the power cord, before ejecting cartridge.
2. And also, install your cartridge under unplugged condition.

This is some happen at only "CANON" printer.
I could see many solution on web, but non of them works!!!

The printer keeps flashing e then 2 and when i try to print it says it is error 5100

I have an MP130. I find that when I have a 5100 error you just need to change the cartridges even though the software may say there is ink left in the cartridge. I think there is a chip on the cartridge itself when sends a message that the printer doesn't understand.

First off though you can disconnect the printer from the outlet, count to 10 and then switch it back on. Also, don't be tempted top refill cartridges or use anything but genuine replacements unless you want problems! Been there, done that :>)

Lights flashing after fittinf new cartridges

This usually is the problem with after market and refilled cartridges. Usually is does not compromise the printers function, except from the built in canon ink level control. If you can live without that it should be ok. Or get original ones. It may also be caused by ink spills on the electric connections for the cartridge and in the printer. Gently clean it with some suitable electronics cleaner, or even a damp lint free cloth and clean water. You may have to tell the printer or software to ignore the canon error message.

MP170 can only accept PG40, PG50, Cl41 & CL51 only. Please check the cartridge model correctly. if problem still persist, ask for replacement for the faulty cartridge.

Error message U051 on canon MP460

Check the Label on the cartridge if it covers a certain area then you will get an error message. Compare it with a good cartridge the label should nearly touch the lugs at top end. Only applies to refilled Carts.

Installed new cartridges; keep getting error message

I'd say your using dodgy aftermarket or non HP cartridges, you could put your old ones in and see if message goes away, if having problem when using with Original HP cartridges post back and I'll did deeper for you.

I dont work for HP, I do know printers :-)
