LED Says "Insert Color Cartridge"

This problem can be a number of things. 1) First, make sure you have the correct cartridges ( a 45 and a 78),. 2) It is rare, but HP can deliver a new cartridge that is DOA. 3) Make sure the electrical contacts on the cartridge are clean and dry. The electrical contacts are on the cartridge's vertical wall opposite the label. The contacts are the square gold clusters - NOT THE PRINTHEAD (never wipe or touch the printhead without the proper procedure). Dirty or wet contacts can cause this problem. 4) Contacts in the printer can be dirty, but this may require a little more expertise. You can carefully wipe the printer contacts with a dry Qtip. Give more details about the cartrdge (is it new, old, remanufactured, etc.)
