Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook
If your dc-adapter is a Dell original, that means your battery is dead and you need to replace it. However, if your adapter is a generic model, most Dells would work with one but will complain, although with a different phrase than yours. So, odds are it's the battery. No gimmick to fix that one other than getting a new one. Sorry.

Tips for a great answer:
Dec 02, 2012 | Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook
Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if
the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to take the laptop
apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the motherboard, so you
will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.
