Plasma screen tv that was cleaned with windex and paper tower.

I know, a big no no, however it has been done and I was wondering if there was a magic formula out there that would repair the streaks. It's not visible when the tv is on and only visable if you stand close enough to it when off. But enough where I notice it and don't like it :(

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Use a cloth like you would use to clean your eye glasses, and it takes a lil while, but let the t.v screen kinda dry and then use the cloth and try rubbing the streaks out, it takes a lil while to do but this worked for me. and even breath on the tougher areas that won\'t come out then wipe it with the cloth. this worked for me, but you have to get the ammona out of the pores of the t.v glass. it sucks and don\'t ever use chemical on your flat screens. but it is possible to get it back looking new if you try good enough. i think maybe t.v companies and repair shops don\'t want you to know this cuz its bad business to not have to buy a new t.v or pay huge repair cost for them to get the glass looking new again. but the chemical imbeds its self in the screen so you have to rub it until it all gets out of the pores. anyway... good luck!!! i did the same thing knowing it wasn\'t good for the t.v but there where smugges i wanted off the screen!

I have the newest version of this plsma TV. It is one month old. I tried to clean some areas of the screen with a micro fiber cloth and a dab of windex in 1 corner of the cloth, not realizing that the...

You have damaged the outer protective screen. Only replacement will fix. Water only on a damp cloth should be used to clean. However, the outer screen can be changed. Since the tv is almost new you will have to contact Samsung at through customer service at 1-800-627-4368 9AM to 8:30PM Eastern time. When changing the outer screen be sure to never touch the inner screen after removal. You have to take the back off the set to get to the screws holding the baziel or "plastic frame" to remove the outer screen. I have never taken a screen off of a set that new so I advise you exercise patience when removing. Have the product code ready for customer service to locate the proper protective screen. And serial number.

Hi i just bought a 32inch lg plasma tv and just wonderin whats the best way to clean your tv without causein any damage please get in touch thanks

Well first off, Id like to appreciate the fact that you are asking instead of just applying windex. Ugh. Best product to use without having to buy anything is a coffee filter. This takes off all the dust. You can use a regular duster on The back to keep it from building up and overheating, as plasmas naturally emit more heat. You can also go to any electronics store like best buy or radioshack and they should be able to sell you a tv screen cleaner. but never use chemicals directly on your screen. Occasionally using windex on a SOFT paper towel and then rubbing on your screen is ok if you have something sticky on it...but dont apply directly to screen. No Liquid of any kind should ever directly touch your screen. Windex dries quickly and therefore is safe sparingly. Notevery day.

Hope this helped! Please take a moment to rate :] Thanks

How do I clean the tv screen has lots of kids prints. Can I use windex window cleaner?

It's generally not recommended to use anything that has alcohol or ammonia. Any harsh cleaner could react with the plastic screen or leave fine scratches. Over time these cleaners could damage your screen. Most cleaners available at the big box stores are water based (such as Monster Screen Clean). A cleaner that is safe for computers or even some eyeglass cleaners will work. Also use a microfiber cloth, like the type you use to detail a car. Do not use paper towels.

What cleaning solution can i use to clean my plasma tv

Most people will recommend using just some distilled water or a very diluted solution of some mild detergent and water and a lint-free cloth. Do not use alcohol or ammonia based cleaners.

How do you clean the screen on a panasonic flat screen tv

When I first got mine, I used Windex and a microfiber cloth to clean it.

Now, I use Phillips Screen Cleaning Gel. It does a better job and doesn't leave streaks like the Windex did at times.

Whatever you decide to use, the best thing to do is spray the solution on the microfiber cloth instead of directly on the screen.

Using a microfiber cloth will ensure you're not inadvertently scratching your screen.

Volume control problem

The MX50X1 uses a series of tac switches for ch+/- vol+/- and power. It would be my first suspect. The vol- tac switch may have become thermal or what we in the industry refer to as the windex syndrome. We see this a lot on direct view TVs usually because the switching board is directly below the screen and every time someone cleans the screen with windex an trace amount of the fluid might drip all the way down to the board and invade one or more of the tac switches. This isn't the only reason a tac switch goes bad or becomes thermal sometimes it just simply fails... Tac switches are cheap (less than $2.00) but the labor to put them in is probably one shop hour. Find a good shop and have them do it - - If you're not sure where to find one goto: and start your research from there... Good Luck Bill PS: Impress the shop you call and tell them you think your TV has developed the windex syndrome. They'll probably think you know a lot more than you do about TV repair. :)
