I have the exact same problem. everytime i try to save on InDesign document a error message pops up.
Cannot save XXXXunder a new name. (error code:0)

You have to use the "save as" to specify a new name. I am assuming that you are doing that rather than a plain "save" and trying to change the name.
Also consider if you have a watermark or some sort of copy protection turned on. That MIGHT preclude saving under different name..
