check under mower were it plugs into the clutch and be sure it is connected good. check fuse. test switch. test clutch. some times if you wiggle the wires going into the clutch it will engage if it does you may be able to take the clutch off and solder the wires where they are frayed.

How to change the fuse on a cub cadet riding mower

Most of the times the fuses on cub cadets are located under the engine cowling close to where the steering shaft runs through the frame near the battery. Follow the wiring harness from behind the ignition switch and it should lead you to the fuses. There are no very many fuses to check on your mower. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Where is the fuse located on a LT1554 cub cadet

Check the connector and wires at the pto clutch. Sometime the movement will create a cut in the wiring you may be able to see. If so if the wire touches ground it will blow the fuse and if the wires touch each other it will short. if the short is not there then the clutch is bad?

Starting problems with my cub cadet 2166 lawn mower? Battery is good, not turning over, sometimes it clicks? I can jump start but it is a pain. I have taken this to a dealer last year for this problem....

If it works when jump started, then I would suspect a bad battery or lose or corroded connection. check wires from battery to starter relay also known as solenoid to starter,if it is making a click, the ignition is most likely ok . safety start switch is ok ,I still suspect Battery..can you have it load tested or try a known good one?PS if above test OK, then starter or starter solenoid /relay.Hope this helped you fix it. please let us know if this helped.thank you.
