The problem is not the antenna. There are a few things thatcan cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move thewireless router away from brick or concrete walls and if possible locatethe wireless router higher up.2. Have you secured yourwireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change thedefault password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID,and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC addressfiltering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s toconnect to your wireless router.3. You could be gettinginterference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers andcomputers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, betterstill connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted PowerSupply). 4. Check the channels ofthe wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcastchannel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currentlyused but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interferencewith your wireless router from other wireless routers and accesspoints in your area.
The wireless adapter is used to connect wireless to the internet, You can use it to make your desktop wireless and laptop.
You can connect to the internet as long as you have a wireless router in your place that will supply the wireless signal.
If your internet provided suspects your using a router to lead to more than once pc - it cost them bandwidth - that said - you must call your provider. Ask them if you need to use a 'keep alive' setting. Belkin is SUPER at helping you set up your unit as well. Ask the ISP - Internet Service Provider about this. As it is the DSL losing it- the Dynamic mean - changing and they are pulling the signal to save money.
hi! I will be more than glad to help u in this concern..your using a wireless n router and the n router will work with the signal properly if u are using a wireless n network adapter. If you are using a wireless g adapter then u need to use a wireless n range expander in order for the other wireless g adapter to get good signal..or try buying a antena which 9 dbi which will boost the signal from your wireless g adapter..
Access the routers admin page with the hardwired pc. http://*gateway* right click network status on pc and get gateway. Google the model you have for the default passwords. Setup your wifi security then do the same to your laptop and attempt to connect again. Bad settings somewhere.
