ginger...the first thing I'd look at is if there is any water under the machine which could be shorting this unit out. Shut the power, remove the lower housing and look around. You may also see a cable that has vibrated its insulation away somewhere in there. If that isn't found, you may have a bad motor. That's going to be a service guy job.
