Go to any autoparts store and get an aerosol can of belt lube. spray the belt which will give it better grip than it now has. at some point you will have to replace the belt because it must be getting worn.

Dryer Not spinning. Replaced a bunch of stuff. Spins for about a min and locks up

You may have not replaced the bearings or some other part correctly? did you check the rollers? are they positioned and turning correctly? is there still a screeching sound? I would suggest removing the cabinet, jumper the door switch and run it without the belt and drum connected? check to see if the motor is even turning or seizing? is there a humming sound? a winding sound? your motor may be bad?

I have a frigidare fse44ghso clothes keep getting caught and stained up into the edge of the drum. Can i fix this?

You will need to replace the "glides" and the "felt" on your dryer. Here are the glides to order. Here is the lower felt to order. Here is the upper felt to order.
You have to remove the top panel first and then the front panel. Remove the old felts and clean the metal surfaces from the old particles. Install both new felts using the glue included in the felt/glide assembly. Let it dry before reassembly.

Here is a video to show you how to do the upper felt.

Here is a video to show you how to do the lower felt.

Here is a video for the glide replacement.

The videos may be a little different in the model they show but the process is the same. Your dryer will be as good as new after this repair.
The parts comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return.

Dryer works fine but squeaks

on most dryers this indicates the need to replace the glides and (or) bearing socket
If you look inside the drum and see 3 screws at the back of the drum then it
most likely is a bearing socket, I usually replace the front glides and felt assembly
as well (total for the parts is around 40 dollars). It is rather difficult as you must disassemble\
the whole front of the dryer to install the glides and socket. If you choose to do this
use spring clamps to hold the felts as the glue dries overnight this makes reassembly
much easier. Usually there are two springs which must be pushed back between
the lid and front to access the bolts holding the front panel on. You may want to look
up a parts diagram before attempting disassembly and remember to shut off breakers
and unplug unit before servicing.

This could be a few things, depending on your style of GE Dryer.

1. It could be the belt/motor pulley - either has broke, or seized up.

2. It could be the drum bearing, which holds the tub in the center, and it glides - the grease could be completely gone. This will cause lots of noise/friction

3. It could be the front felt/glide assembly - this is what the drum glides on.

My dryer is squeaking loudly when I first put clothes in it, quiets down after 10 minutes or so. What do I need to do to fix it? Do I need a new belt of some kind. Can't find manual:(

The dryer needs to be dis-assembled and the drum removed.
Then remove and clean the drum support roller wheels and shafts.
Inspect the front drum glides for wear.
Also remove and clean the tension roller shaft wear the belt rides at the motor.
Inspect the drum felt seal for tear and wear.

Make sure the felt on the rim of the drum is secure and the plastic glides that the drum sits on are not worn down.

Maytag dryer squeaks during cycle

How do you replace the glides/slides? I have a Maytag dryer that's squeaking, took off front and it's clear it's the glides. Found where to buy them just need directions for replacing. Anyone know how?

To change the glides you have someone lift the drum--after taking off the front panel--and pull out the glides. We bought the glides locally and just ordered on line the felt pads that go under the glides, as one was missing. So I haven't actually completed the project but should easily be able to once the felt pads arrive.

My dryer of the same model number had the same issue. The teflon/plastic wear points are worn out or have fallen off. They are about $22.00 plus shipping at the site below. Disconnect the power, lift (with force) the top off at the front of the dryer and you will have access to remove and replace.

Felt glide assembly - Upper felt seal with three glides attached. Comes with adhesive.
