The same thing just happened to my camera and I have no idea what could've caused it. I mean, I have dropped it a few times but not recently. And now everything is like pink, orange, red, and purple and all blurred and misshapen... Included is a picture of my camera screen. I hope there is another solution besides just getting it replaced!My digital camera is totally crazy! Its display is - 7caaae3.jpg

The images apprear purple on the screen, and dark in patches. New photo's taken, come out purple. But existing photo's appear on the screen as, normal.

Hi,

If the previously captured images are appearing fine in the Camera, then the issue is with the CCD Image Sensor unit only. Check if the display icons are appearing normally on the Camera screen.

Try power resetting and Factory resetting the Camera to check if the issue can be resolved:
Power reset:
Remove the batteries from the Camera.
Press and hold the POWER BUTTON of the Camera for 15 seconds.
Then, reinsert the batteries after 1 minute.
Factory reset;
To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the Main Settings 1 Menu of the Camera to OK.

Home-->Settings-->Main Settings 1-->Initialize-->OK

Image totally blurred,

Could be a firmware issue, I suggest you go to the Panasonic website, follow links for support and/or downloads and see if there's a firmware upgrade for your camera.

Failing that, get onto the panasonic tech staff, they may be able to guide you further.

LCD screen turns purple in shooting mode. Photos can be taken. Most are Ok, some slightly out of focus or faded coloration. If switched to play back mode and then back top shooting mode, display is Ok for...

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free worldwide, and may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Applicable cameras include: A60, A70, A75, A80, A85, A95, A300, A310, S1 IS, S60, S230, S400, S410, S500, SD100, SD110, IXUS V2/V3/300/400/430/500/II/IIs, IXY Digital 200a/300a/320/400/450/500/30/30a

Events taken

Events are not the same thing as pictures. I am not sure what makes the event counter move but I have 17 of these cameras and have used them for several years and most of my cameras have over 1500 events. I think an event is logged when it takes the first photo but an animal can remain in the area taking more photos which will show on the picture total. The evnt counter must have to be dormant for some period before it will register as a new event. Let the camera cycle through each counter and I believe the picture total is displayed after the events.

Don't worry about your event counter just the picture counter. I hope this helps.

LCD flickering / Purple/Green Photos

I'm sorry to tell you, your CCD its death, no human intenvention can fix it, you must replace it, when a CCD fails, it's literally death, you can not fix it, its a very delicated part, and the fail it's some kind of microscopic evaporation or filtration problem, I'm pretty sure that it has no fix. I spend the last year trying to fix mine, but with negative results.

LCD show purple or violet cast on white areas when using auto mode

Have you tried viewing the photos on a computer or printing them? There should also be parts of the menu/setting displays that would be white. The text on the image info should be in white.
If you are getting white, it would suggest your whitebalance isn't set correctly. If everything has a purple tint to it, check your LCD display settings, otherwise it may be the screen is failing.
