Toshiba U400-15D randomly restarts by itself after shutdown...

Hi all.
I also have the same problem as previously posted: My recently purchade Toshiba U400-15D frequently restarts by itself if left plugged-in for charge... Its running Vista and is configured as received. Very strange!
Because its a new unit, I returned it to the reseller with a detailed explanation of the problem. It was returned to me with a one sentence repair report (translated from portuguese): ''Equipment restore and tests, with no abnormal indication''...
And... it comes back with the same problem. Shut it down and it will randomly restart itself !!!
I believe I'll have a long-lasting war with Toshiba in Portugal to have the unit replaced under warrenty.

Hi,

How long have you been noticing this behaviour ??
Try this out :--

1.Restart your PC and keep tapping F8 until you get advanced menu options.
2.From the list of options, choose safe mode with networking and press enter.
3.Once you boot to the desktop, notice the computer behaviour. If found Ok then launch Internet explorer and try downloading smitfraudfix and malware bytes to remove malwares/spywares as it seems infected.(If it works fine with safe mode)
You can download smitfraudfix from siri.geekstogo.com/

You can download malware bytes from www.malwarebytes.org

Download them and run setup to install.Clean all the malwares/spywares and hope it helps.
If it doesnt, let me know.

Thanks

My Eeetop turns itself off frequently

Check for viruses or corrupted files or recently installed software that may not be compatable with your operating system. Any of this could cause it to shutdown randomly also check for your Fan Vents that are dusty and not flowing well or at all....this could make it overheat and shutdown as a safety precaution. Worse case is the motherboard might be going bad but don't assume this is the problem..... Last resort do a system restore (under the start menu)

My PC keeps restarting when playing this game

Computer randomly restarts is not something unique happened to you. Sometimes there is a dreadful total crash of the system and sometime it sends different errors, upon restarting nothing happens.

-- First of all disable the auto-restart option from your control panel settings
-- Remove any recently installed maliciously software/add-on or any other application or toolbar.
-- Try to cool down your PC as the overheating due to overuse of computer may result in system freezing and sudden restarting.
-- Update your BIOS.
-- Update the drivers
-- Make it sure the error is not caused by the deficient power supply. You may try to change the power supply.
-- Conduct the registry clean up scan for quick fix of the problem.

-- Remove flashy games and/or untrusted antiviruses/antispywares. Conduct the security scan through the most powerful scanners only.

If you have already been experiencing the computer automatic restart and shutdown problem then use PC optimization tool like Reginout to fix such kind of issues instantly.

Computer restarts randomly

If you are using Windows (XP, Vista or 7) then open the Computer properties by clicking on the Computer icon (on desktop or start menu) then go to the Advanced page tab and check if you have the option to automatically restart the system set on in the Startup and Recovery Settings section. If this is on, then Windows will restart the system any time that a critical error is encountered.

The other place to check is in the Windows Event logs (system log) provided this option is enabled.
You should be able to access the event logs by right clicking on the Computer icon and then selecting the Manage option followed by opening the Event viewer where you should look for any critical, error or warning entries that may occur at the times when the computer restarts itself (or posted immediately when it restarts).
