The Reason Why you get this freeze is mainly beacuse your Laptop is understress. What i mean by this is : When you are trying to access your E-mails or internet pages What happens in the background is the main Problem. IAM unsure of what programs you have on your laptop i.e. Antivirus programs, adware, spam blockers..... The list goes on... but here is a way you can Reduce the freeze up IF you Think Your up for it... FIrst We need to address how many programs you have running at startup & in the background that dont need to be running FOr example MSN If you have msn Iam quite sure it runs at startup & although this might be good for you for easy access it deosnt need to run at start.. It is best for YOUR LAPTOP & YOUR Paitence to only run this programe When Needed. I call programs like These (Click & Run) It might seem as little effort to go through your programs to see what programs Dont need to auto Run when you laptop is turned on But if you can reduce these Then Im sure you will find that Your laptop memory will be a little healthier & your laptop will run a little smoother. Download CCleaner (Its free) Analyze & clean Then click on Registry on the left & do the same again Then after youve cleaner files that are of no need Click on Tools & then start up Go through the list & have a check at the programs that are running & maybe disable then from starting up the moment your laptop is switched on ( So to Speak) afer reboot & try your internet IF you not sure you can always re enable these programs ADVICE: keep your anitvirus program running. Hope this helps

Run a registry cleaner. You probably have a lot of conflicts in the registry files, fighting with each other. The cleaner will straighten them out.

I have a lenovo z460...i just wanna ask why my hard disk drive indicator keeps on blinking? and yesterday, the system freezes and i can't even shut it down. what is wrong? please help.what should

This sounds like hard drive issues, remove hardware and reseat it back in place, if no change! sub out the ram one at a time testing as you go.If still nothing! the hard drive needs to be a assessed for possible replacement.

My Toshiba Satellite L45-S7423 PC Notebook will not star it brings me to a screen with an underscore key blinking.how do i get it started?

Hi King,

I see that you are having issue with your Toshiba and as you mentioned that you are seeing a black screen with a blinking cursor and I believe that it is on the upper left side of the screen.

Having this blinking cursor means that the machine is not booting into the Hard drive, we will check several things on your laptop to find out what is causing this on you laptop.

  • First as soon as you power your Laptop ON keep on tapping f12 to get to the boot menu, once you see the boot menu screen it will show you a list the first one should be you Hard drive it should say SATA so on ans so fort click on it then press enter this should boot into your Hard Drive but it still you get the blinking cursor then we will need to check the BIOS.
  • To get into the BIOS from shut down as soon as you power the system on keep on tapping F1 this will show you a Blue screen it may say Phoenix BIOS on the upper left side or center or may be different,
  • Once in the BIOS screen there will be tabs on top of the screen for options, look for boot check the Boot sequence and change the first boot priority to the Hard drive.
  • But doing both the instructions above will only work if the Hard drive is detected, by doing F12 for the Boot menu if the Hard drive is not on the list then the Hard Drive will most likely not be in the BIOS as well and this means that th Hard Drive on your system may need replacing.
I believe that this is a far as we can go since there is no other option to do regarding this concern, unless you would know how to open up you Laptop from beneath and re-seat it from it connection, re-seat meaning remove and reconnect.

Have a nice day I hope that I was able to provide details that can help .

We brought a used ibook 3g and it will not play the dvd's and the videos on youtube keep freezing and won't hardly play. What can we do to fix this problem?

Does it have a DVD Rom drive? check the "About this mac" section and look under ide drives. you should see something that reads DVD-ROM. If not then it won't play movies. As for youtube, its at the most a 466 Mhz laptop, if you're watching it over wireless its only 802.11.b so you're running out of machine, you need a faster one.

Computer is not recognizing my external hard drive

If the light won't blink, there could be problem with the power source. Do scanning hardisk for errors manually ( take off the hardisk from the case, assemble it on other PC Desktop)

1. Go to the "my computer" icon and check the C: drive to see how much space is available if less than 20 GB this may be you issue. Not enough storage space.
2. If you have a USB hard drive free. Move some unused data that you want to keep to this hard drive.
3. uninstall any programs that are not used
4. If you have used your PC extensively it may be time for a new hard drive.
5. If you haven't down a "defrag" on this hard drive in year it may well be that this is the issue also.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Keeps stalling, engine

P0505 means the whole Idle Control system, not only the IAM. Check all related sensors (i.e. crankshaft sensor). Check with a voltmeter direct at the connector of the IAM if you get any signal. Remove the IAM from the TB, connect him, let someone switch your ignition key to ON. The IAM need to drive in/out for a short time to find the right position. Hold the IAM near a hard part, that they cant drive out completely! If IAM works fine, check the fuel pressure, check and clean your TB ( if not done yet). If that doesn't work, come back again please

Harddrive working slow

Sounds to me as if the hard drive got physically damaged. If you haven't done so yet, back up your data right away. Go to support.dell.com and see if the hard drive is something you can replace - I would strongly suggest that if you are going to replace it yourself, you get a replacement from Dell. But I suspect you will have to take it to a shop for repair.
