Question about Fisher and Paykel Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have a Fisher and Paykel MW512 toploader washing machine whcih has developed a fault. It fills with water (sometimes after 2 or 3 attempts) but the drum does not turn and it stops and beeps every second with tow orange lights permanently on (on the top tow of lights, the first and next to last lights). The only other thing that works is that it empties (again in 2 or 3 goes) when turned on to spin, but the drum still does not turn. Couls it be the controller board or a drive belt. If it is the belt how do I get the top off to gain accesss? Thanks.

Wow. It worked again after 5 minutes after uplugging the unit as you recommended. At least I know that it is this that will need replacing before too long, and I'll save myself a fortune in fees for someone to come out to us as we live very rural. Thanks so much, Localwonder.

HI. This is a control fault that is causing this interruption that you are experiencing at this time. Its a basic logic chip set failure. Simply replacing the control board will correct this.

((It may be possible to reset the chip set on this board if the damage is not severe. Simply unplug or shut down the appropriate circuit switch for five minutes. After the five minutes has passed, reapply the power to the affected unit. try to run a cycle once more. If the unit continues to malfunction after this reset, replace the control board.))

Fisher and paykel toploader washing machine fault 49 water valves all show 60 ohms next step?

Fault code 49 is water valves, But the Aqua-Smart board is outputting the wrong code here, The Smart pump has blown the water valves fuse on it's overload, A common thing in Aqua-Smart Machines i always keep seeing,
The Smart pump has jammed with lint and caused over current to the board and taken out parts on the board that drive the pump.
Best to get a new/recondition board for your machine.

Your pressure value switch is malfunction. First thing you can try that is cheap to fix is to try clean the hose that connects to the outer tub. A lot of times there is algae develops after years of washing.
