I don't think I can do the replacement job even if I will order the parts. I don't know what to do. I don't know the exact location of the problem. It is just appearing on the printer's panel whenever I start printing.

I am not getting any reply or advise on what to do?

On their website yo can order the replacement part and install it yourself. It is not difficult to do and takes about 10 minutes tops. You already know the location since you know it is almost full so replacing it is simple. Order the part and change it out and your good to go.

I apologize. I did not see you posting other replies to this thread. The system doesn't give use warnings. If you do not have teh manual or knowledge to replace this part PLEASE take it to a printer repair shop. It is not a good idea to break down a printer if you are not comfortable doing so. I made the mistake of assuming you had physically viewed the part. If you have no instructions, and it seems it should have them, on how to replace this you really need to go to a printer repair shop.

This printer has an ink absorber that takes in ink during the
printing and print head cleaning processes. The cleaning process is
necessary in order to keep the print head nozzles from becoming
clogged. Over the life of the printer, the amount of ink that the ink
absorber has absorbed is calculated by the printer. Eventually, after
substantial use, the printer will enter an error condition when the ink
absorber is nearly full. At this point, printing is still possible.
Press the button to release the error. You will still be
able to print for a short period. To protect the printer from damage,
you will not be able to print at all once the ink absorber is full.

    Canon
recommends having the printer serviced before the absorber becomes
full. We are aware that there are many "do-it-yourself" Web sites that
offer instructions for making this repair. Replacing the ink absorber
is a complicated and potentially messy procedure. Even if the ink
absorber is successfully changed, the ink absorber counter must be
reset. Be aware that if you attempt this procedure, it is at your own
    risk.

Waste Ink Absorber on Pixma MP130 multifunctional is almost full.

You don't have to change the waste ink absorber. There are two in the MP130 and they cost about $15 each. I have found though that you can just reset the counter and let the printer run without any problems. I have done this with three now with no problems. Reset procedure is:

1. Start Printer
2. Press button MENU, then SCAN, COPY and again SCAN – the printer will go into the service menu.
3. select NVRAM ACCESS and further BY OK.
4. select SET Abs- m level and reduce to zero.
5. select SET Abs- r level (if there is) and reduce to zero.
6. Turn off printer by button POWER.

Waste ink absorber full

Hi There you can try
How To Reset Waste Ink Canon Pixma MP130

The waste ink take is actually just a felt pad that sits under the printer mechanism inside the case and absorbs the ink from your cleanings.
From what I gather, it’s both a time consuming and expensive proposition to take to Canon to fix.
And they won't tell people how to do it themselves.

Remember of course, you've got to cycle the cleaning process a huge amount of times to get this to occur.

But when it does, there is a fix-it-yourself solution that is both safe and effective for the printer, and free.
You have to be slightly mechanical to do this.
If you you've never used a screwdriver and are all thumbs, but give it a shot or give it to someone halfway coordinated to do this for you.

You may RESET the printer code first if you like or do it after you clean the pad

Here this step by step to resetting waste ink counter printer Canon Pixma MP130

1.You will include printer
2. Press button MENU, then SCAN, COPY and again SCAN - they entered
into the service regime
3. Select NVRAM ACCESS and further BY OK.
4. Select SET Abs- m level and advance value equal to zero
5. Select SET Abs- r level (if there is) and also you will establish into zero
6. You will turn off printer by button POWER.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Message-the waste ink absorber is almost full on pixma MP130

That is usually Canon's sneaky way of telling you that is nearing time to buy new printer. Used on older machines without chips on cartriges. After "almost full" msg, usually follows "waste ink tank full" after which printer becomes unusable. Solution: Google "waste ink tank full" reset tool and run it, that should do the thing.

You can't empty that one, you need a shop to replace the pads which are under the printer, and they can reset the waste ink counter at the same time.
