You must play in surround mode with your DVD/CD player otherwise there will be no information to decode.

SOURCE: Samsung Series 6 TV - cannot get TV to go through Home cinema speakes

Ok, the Audio can only be transfered to the HT if it is connected via something other than the HDMI, (the HDMI is just 1 way accept for the Anynet function (which is great with the 6 series. I have the LE52-A656))

The audio can be transfered via component cables but you will get the best out of your system using an optical cable. The main reason for optical is it ability to transfer 5.1. Only problem is the Samsung does not output 5.1!! bugger!! one you have connected it via the optical too. just set the HT to D-IN and you should be goo to go! :) There maybe something i have missed but Im at work at the mo but let me know how you get on :)

SOURCE: trying to get surround sound speakers to work with TV

They come with 3 x 3.5mm stereo to 2 x RCA phono cables, so are obviously meant for plugging in to the back of a PC with 6ch output.

BTW - they're ****.

I should've known for £29....

SOURCE: UNLOKING CODE NEEDED FOR LG HOME CINEMA

I too had problems initially.
Try looking at post 4 on this thread of the AV Forums, Paying particular attention to the info on burning disks, it also gives another source to download the file:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/dvd-player-hacks/821985-region-free-hack-lg-ht503th.html

The file I used, that eventually worked, was one I created myself using the instructions in the post of the following link:

You need to use a HDMI 1.4 Cable and it needs to be connected to to an HDMI socket with an ARC (audio return channel). Alternatively you can connect using an optical cable (TOSLINK).

I cant get my samsung home cinema system to play through my t.v

I bought the optical audio cable ($15 WalMart) and use the Digital In on the DVD player to play the sound through the surround system and turned the TV speakers off. Works great! The optial audio has square ends and looks transparent with just one round shaped cable that goes from the TV to the back of the DVD player.

Having just bought a Panasonic TX-37LZD80 television and a panasonic sc-pt460EB-K home cinema system, I connected the 2 together using a HDMI Cable and all works well except that I cannot get the sound...

When I purchased the television iI was told that I would only need a HDMI cable to connect the devices together, this is not true as the HDMI only provides 1 way transmission, to get the sound to go from the television back to the home cinema you need to use either a Phono Lead or Optical lead, plug them in and Hey Presto it works.
