Re: is there a pilot light on amana gas dryer model...
There is no standing pilot light. The gas is ignited by a hot surface device that is electrically controlled. Trace the exhaust venting to locate the burner area.

The manual for the W10562495A has a copyright date of July 2013. Since this is a fairly new dryer, I believe it has an on-demand igniter instead of a standing pilot light. Most gas dryers stopped including a pilot light in the 1980s. This is much safer since there is no danger of the pilot going out with the gas still flowing.
If your dryer is not working, check the gas solenoid and the igniter. (Use the data sheet that should be inside the dryer. It may be behind the control panel.) If you live in an area that had a history of mining, check your ventilation. I have to open the garage doors to my home after some storms to get more oxygen into the basement. The gas appliances will give an error about "failing to ignite" if I don't.
never heard of having a pilot light as well an ignitor, the two don't go together. If your have a pilot light that is on the unit is getting gas. If there is pilot light there is usually a knob to switch between pilot light, off, and active on. maybe set to pilot light only.
sounds like one of the supply fuses at the house panel, these 240 volt dryers are wired so the timer is on one phase(120)volt and the motor is on the opposite phase(120)volt and the heating element is on both phases for a combined 240 volts,if you lose one phase you either wont get motor operation or timer operation, and for sure no heat and you have the timer so you have 120volts
Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly.
