After downloading vlc all my icons change into vlc. how can i get rid off it?

Deselect the option to make VLC your default player. This should revert them back to normal. However if you want to play back the media files you will have to right click the file and select play via VLC. This will not change the icon of that file back to the cone of VLC, only changing to default will do that. If you were using Windows Media icons before, then selecting Windows Media player as default player will change the icons back. Normal clicking of the mouse on a media file will cause the play back via whatever player is set as the default.

Why does my Icons on the desktop turns default once VLC player is installed?

What do you mean turns default? Are you saying all your music icons turned into the VLC icon as the default player to play them with?

If so you can change that. Right Click on one of the music icons that has vlc as the player and select Open With then select Chose Program at the bottom. When the Open With window opens select the player you want to use as your default and look down near the bottom and put a check in the box that says Always Use The Selected Program To Open This Kind Of File.

When i save it is opening in notebook

I am assuming you mean "notepad". It sounds like the default program for Word files was changed to notepad instead of Word.
To change it to use Word, find a word file (one with a .doc or .docx extension), right click and under "open with" select "choose default program". Select Word and click the checkbox "always use the selected program" to change the default. Then click OK. It should change the icons to the "W" Word icon, and should open them in word from now on.
Good luck, and feel free to comment if you need more help.

After Chrome uninstall Web page icons gone

I fully agree and sympathize with you.

I faced a similar problem and here is the solution for it.

First uninstall Google Chrome (From what you have written; you have already uninstalled it).

Go to "Set Default Programs" (Control Panel>Default Programs>Set Default Programs)

Select Internet Explorer and click Set this program as default

Select Microsoft Office Outlook and click Set this program as default

Run Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and browse to location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Ext and change the value data of all DWORD entries from 1 to 0.

Launch Internet Explorer first; launch your Mail client (hopefully Microsoft Officer Outlook).

Check if all is well and you are now able to open links from within your Mail client.

If all is well now, you may change your Default Program settings to Firefox.

P.S. Just remember to say thanks :) and you can always change the Firefox icons, you do know how?

Icon change

It sounds as if you might be altering the file type extension.

A file name is made up of 2 parts - The actual name (the bit before the . ) and the file type extension (the 3 or 4 letters after the . )

By default, the file type extensions are normally hidden (as this prevents problems), but it is possible to get XP to show them by the following method:

Open 'My Documents' folder. Click Tools>Folder Options>View. Scroll down the lsit and uncheck 'hide extensions for known file types' Click Ok.

If you have got the file extensions showing and you were to change or delete one the icon will change. The file type extension basically tells the computer what type of file it is, and which program should open it (and shows the appropriate programs icon.)

Ensure your files have the correct extension and the reverse the above steps to 'hide' them.

Hope this helps.
