Question about Kenwood VR-6050 Receiver

1 Answer

No sound from front right and left speakers

Has anyone had trouble with front speakers not working suddenly? I have had the VR-6050 for 3 years and never had any trouble (other than trying to figure out the manual). Woke up one day to no sound from left and right speakers. Checked speakers and they are fine. Also checked test tone -- nothing from either speaker. Have reset the unit several times by plugging in while holding down power on button. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I won't be able to try that for another week or two but I'll let you know how it works. Thanks again!

I've had this receiver for several years and recently when I turn on the receiver I get no sound from the front left & right speakers. Occasionally if I leave it on for a while the sound will jump back in and keep working until I turn off the receiver, but this behavior seems very intermittent.

You may have a dc condition present on speaker outputs. this could be caused by dry solder joints, suggest blanket resolder of the output stages for front channels.

The sound has stopped working on my receiver. It powers on but the sound is very faint even when turned all the way up.

This is a problem with the output transistors that power your speakers. This is a problem for a professional unfortunately.

There are many different "listening modes" integrated on my Kenwood VR-7070 6.1 channel receiver. But i only get both front speakers to work when in "mono" mode. Is there an easy fix?

There is not a "fix" for this selection, MONO is basically a single channel output so there is no seperation for various speakers like left or right which is a stereo effect, mono is like a single speaker sound so you are fortunate to have the sound from 2 speakers but they deliver the same sound.

Have a VR-407 receiver, all of a sudden there's no audio coming out of the speakers from the TV. Also, DVD, tuner and CD player have no sounds. Speakers are only a couple years old.

Check for basic things like speakers being turned off or switched to speaker b from a and the tape monitor switch being on. Larry's Electronics.

1 front speaker and 1 surround speaker won't work on cable selection

theres probably a problem with the right channel cable or plug that connects the tv to the reciever, or the tv is set to mono audio.

Sound not coming from left side surround sound speaker or my right side front speaker

it is highly likely that you're TV is outputting mono sound, hence the left channel only. check your physical connections to the TV and the balance / channel volume on the television as well.

No sound from Front Speaker

take amp to a workbench, have a test speaker in hand, touch the speaker wires to each channel to see if all channels work. take each speaker to the amp and temporarily hook one at a time to see if any speaker is bad. if you eliminate the hardware, you know it's the wires in between.
