Re: my bx2200 cut off as soon as it was turned on and...

These are the trasistors..The ones closest to the power connectors are probably the ones for power supply and or 15 volt regulators..The rest are for amplifier section.Im guessing all except regulatos will be MOSFET transistors .If you are to replace them ..Stick to original parts..You can probably find these at or Just give then the numbers on transistors .Also make sure all other parts around shorted parts are okay before you install new parts..

Hi, Got problem with my amp. Sudenly it has stopped working. It is got a 2 x 20 amp fuses. One of them has blown up. When I have tried to change it , I have noticed that electric sparks and lightly smoke...

My guess is that you had it turned up so high for so long you melted something. This would be from large current draw over extended period of time with inadequate ventilation for the resulting heat. I have done this myself, so I feel your pain.

If you are feeling brave, you could open it up and look for any charred or melted wiring, and replacing it with a patch wire. If you see any evidence of scorching or melting on any of the circuit boards instead, it's not worth fixing.

Since it is a Pyle amp (which is actually just a re-branded Pyramid), it would probably cost the same to just replace it with a new one or from eBay.

Good luck!

Black smoke and plugs no power under load

if theres an excissive amount of black smoke, then you have a fuel problem. something i sletting way too much gas into your engine. the most probable cause is a bad fuel injector o-ring. to check this, fijrst take off the air intake. while your under the hood, keep an eye on the inside of the throttle body., while a friend sits inside your truck and turns on the ignition. dont try to start the vehicle, just turn the keyswitch on. if the injector o-rings are bad, you should see gas leaking from the injector inside the throttle body. it will be pretty obvious. this is assuming your truck has throttle body fuel injection. you didnt say what year it is...

It used to cut out for no more than 15 minutes, i thought due to a heat switch. Now it cuts out for a couple hours or even days at a time

suonds like the amp is overheating, try turning the peak knob down about 1/4 turn and turn it on and see if it still does it, also see if the fan kicks in, if not that is normally easy to fix. any auto sound system store will have the replacement fan for it. if not take the fan out of it and take it to a radio shack, I know you are going to say " BUT IT IS A RADIO SHACK PART" well the main thing you pay for with everything is the names. the parts are all made over seas and are shipped here on the same container ships, all electronic parts are the same, all you are paying for is the name pioneer, sony, octain etc. they are all the same parts.... hope this will help you.

Boss 2500GT mono block car amp white smoke after 5 mins

I'm not familiar with this particular model but this appears to be the filter inductor in a class D amp. If I had to guess, the white smoke is from the filter capacitors connected to this inductor.

You should check with Boss to see if it's available. If it's not, you can re-wind it. You'll need to measure the diameter of the wire to determine its gauge.

If the filter caps vented, you'll have to replace those also.

It sounds like the power supply transistors have failed. You'll need to pull the clamps and get the numbers off of the transistors. It's also possible that the 47 ohm gate resistors have failed. After removing the old transistors, you need to check the resistors individually.

Since you're new to repair work, read the following page.

Basic Repair Introduction

Post the part numbers if they are incomplete and you can't find the correct replacements. is probably the best place to buy small quantities if you're in the US.

You also need to check the output transistors to see if any are shorted. If they are, the repair will be more difficult (especially if there is damage to the driver board).

The light on top on my MRP-M450 blinks and the amp doesn't work

Well if you took off the cover on the amp and nothing seems to be burn't, check the voice coils on the sub. It's possible the voice coils have separated and is causing the amp to short it self out due to ground error. If that doesn't help let me know and I'll tell you the next step.

30 seconds down the road and no bass and lot of smoke

Well, it burned up. Too much power.

It is repairable, however, that is not covered by any warranty.
