2008 Hummer occasionally will not start. Completely randon when this occurs. Can sometimes wait a few minutes and it starts and sometimes much longer. This has basically been happenning since new. Dealer replaced fuse box and still no fix. Thank you for your time. Gary

I have a 2007 H3, with exactly the same problem. Just had it serviced by the dealer and the next day it wouldn't start. Totally random, wait a few minutes then it starts. My thoughts are heading towards a faulty ECU

It's unlikely that such a new vehicle would have a starter or solenoid problem. If it cranks over but won't start, try jiggling the shifter while in Park, or put it in Neutral. It could be a defective Starter Safety Switch which prevents the car from being started while in gear. Good luck.

I had to replace my Ignition switch at a cost of 981 bucks! But it will start now.

Do you hear a clicking sound around the engine when it doesn't start? Have someone try the starter while you listen carefully under the hood for the source of the clicking. If it comes from the starter/solenoid area, you will need a voltmeter or test light to test for 12 volts at the battery side of the solenoid (light on or 12 volts always while attempting to start). If light goes out (12 volts goes to zero), then replace the positive battery cable that connects at the solenoid. Next test is at the solenoid other heavy terminal that connects directly to the starter motor. If the light never goes on (12 volts never appear) during start, the solenoid is bad and should be replaced. If light comes on (12 volts appears), then the starter motor is bad and should be replaced. (It likely has a dead spot in the commutator.)

You put it in drive and it starts ??
You'll have to figure out if you have lost spark or fuel when it stops running. Each system has its own set of tests to perform to find the problem.

The blower motor stops working sometimes on my 2007 Hummer H3. Sometimes you can turn the ignition off and wait a little while, then restart it and the blower starts working.

I had the same problem and sloved it with the help of google images, hummer blower motor resistor. Under the glove box the blower motor resistor can be found. It comes loose and the blower will work at times. When I reached under and pushed the connector in, it works fine. It was fixed within minutes. I am a gal with a Hummer and save myself a huge dealer bill. Good Luck!

2006 H3 engine will not start periodically

It might be the Starter Safety Switch which prevents the car from starting while in gear. Try jiggling the shifter while in Park, or put it in Neutral and try it.

Sometimes it starts and some time not

It should be under warranty, take it back to the dealer. Sounds like your losing the fuel prim to the engine. Before starting it turn the key's to the accessory for about 5 sec before starting it and see if the helps start's the car.
