Check if it needs descaling. Scale insulates the water and prvents steam generation leading to expelling of water.

I had the same problem. Basically if the LED on the iron is not coming on but the main unit is powered up OK and the iron is cool then either the thermostat has gone or the iron cord may have a break (common apparently). In my case I had a break in the flex and wiggling it around led to the iron LED coming on and then the iron heating up. I found by wraping some tape around the flex where the problem was I got a temporary fix but the wrapped up cable then has a problem with steam pressure. I bought a new flex assy from belstar electrics http://www.belstar-electrics.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=1204 and replaced it - a simple job for a competant DIY person. If you do this just be careful fitting the steam hose and make sure you get the hose all the way over the pipes - I carefully prepared the pipes with olive oil using a pastry brush and heated up the rubber tube in boing water before sliding carefully over the pipes to get a good fit before replacing the sprng clamps and the rest was just carefully mapping old connectors to new piece by peice. You will need taperproof torx drivers thought |(loads on ebay) Good luck Graeme

I have a tefal pro express turbo GV8150 and there is constant team coming from iron without me touching the steam button. Can anyone help with a diagnosis and or possible fix?

constant steam means the control valve is not working
descaling may fix the problem
the other fix is a new iron as the cost to repair is generally more that a replacement price

Steam generator wetting clothes

Heating plate has come detached from the tank. You have to remove the base and tighten the bolts on the heat plate. This ensures that the necessary temperature can be reached and thus steam rather than water comes out. Unfortunately the base is secured with security screws (6 point star with centre hole) so you will need to get one of these to fix it. They are same as used to secure number plates and can be purchased on ebay or at car parts shop

I have a Tefal Pro Express Turbo iron (purchased in 2005). In the past 2 days the steam is constantly on - the button does not appear to be stuck. I can't get the steam to stop... unless I take out...

Yes, if your electric cord was extremely hot to touch is not common. It's posing danger to your unit and to your entire electrical system that may cause fire. Please let a qualified electrician inspect and repair your unit. The unit thermal fuse may not functioning that automatically switch off or cut the electric power of your unit when it gets too hot. Thank you for asking.

WE HAVE A TEFAL PRO EXPRESS TURBO FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW AND EVEN AFTER DESCALING THE IRON BROWN STUFF STILL COMES OUT OF THE UNDERNEATH AND THE SIDES WHY ?

It is caused by minirals in the water being heated up and crystallising. Try using distilled water.

Failing that,

It may be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.

Tefal Pro Express - Constant Steam (Model 2932)

Great answer from Jacquief above. To which I add try giving the base of the iron and its button, a very light tapping with a tack hammer (much smaller and lighter than a standard hammer) wrapped in a tea-towel. This can often break up the lime scale seal which has formed somewhere inside and is not responding to Jacquief's method. In future never use scale laden tap water in your iron, use $2 litre bottles of distilled water from any supermarket.
