This is most likely an electrical fault in the oven (or switch). As it is potentially dangerous - have it tested before using again.
The RCD trips out because an earth fault has occurred If it did not, the entire cooker may have become live- so it saved your life really.

It may not be as serious as this - when heating elements fail, they can short to ground -(the outside case of the element)
If this is the case - only one element will be at fault.
Test by switching on one element at a time - untill it trips again. In this case - replace that element.

Electric trips off when oven reaches temperature

this can be caused with anything that heats up ( irons etc ) as they overload the fuse when heating elements are worn or have a bad earth wire which has weakened over time. is it a second hand cooker ? or old house ? its down to power through the wire causing the fuse to trip

Electric stove

Check the thermal coupler a copper thermometer for your stove after checking all the fuses in stove and circuit breaker box of house to see if any have tripped. Circuit Breakers should have the switches all in a line. Any not in the lie will be tripped. Fuses in your stove are usually in the top part of the stove where the instruments are and fuses screw out and visually are easy to detect if they are blown or not. Remember all ways Unplug what you are working on to prevent shock

Electrolux EOB 6632 oven trips main house circuit breaker if used above 180c. Installation electrician has done whole house test, says everything normal, must just be a particularly sensitive ciecuit...

Hi, welcome to FixYa! my name is Shaun. I hope i can help you out with your question. Your main house breaker is tripping over 180C because of the amount of current your oven is drawing. Keep in mind that an oven is capable of pulling up to 1/4 the amount of amperage of your total house current capacity, up to 50 Amps. This is assuming you have a typical 200 Amp main breaker. Add this in with your heating/air-conditioning, up to 30A, if electric, your water heater, 25 A if electric, and whatever lights and appliances you have plugged in and turned on, you can imagine how quickly those amps add up when your oven is on. Your oven breaker won't trip because you're not exceeding 50A on that circuit, however if your total household load is exceeding 200A, your main will trip. Also, breakers lose efficiency over time. Sometimes they can drop current capacity by as much as 25%. So your best bet is to replace your house main and see if that fixes your problem. Hope this helps out. Have a good day!

Went to switch oven on fan works when you turn the temp knob it trips the trip switch every time help

HI, Sounds like your from the UK
If you are referring to a trip switch as being equivalent to an American circuit breaker. (Electrical safety device designed to shut down power to an electrical appliance). Then we are on the same page.
Do the following diagnostic procedure:
1 SHUT DOWN THE POWER SUPPLY TO THE OVEN. I.E. THE TRIP SWITCH/CIRCUIT BREAKER.
2 Open the oven door and look very carefully with a flashlight at the heating element. Look at the the entire element. If it blew (similar to when a light bulb blows) you will
find white powder around the hole in it or it will be completely broken, or have bubbles in it. Some indication like that. If so it has failed and must be replaced. It is probably tripping the switch because it is shorting out somewhere. There is also the possibility that the internal wiring connectors to where the element is mounted into the oven walls is broken off and short circuiting against the oven chassis (walls). That being the case, it may be just a wiring repair in which you install new appropriate electrical contacts and re-connect the element.
Hope this helps,
Happy New Year,
Mark

Tricity bendix se211 electric cooker trips all my electrics

The symptoms you describe are a classic example of an oven element heating up, and as it gets hotter, the insulation is breaking down, thereby causing the earth leakage trip to operate.
To confirm this , switch on the oven, and turn all 4 rings on the top to full heat, 2 at a time, let them stay on for at least 10-15 mins, and if it does not trip, then you can be pretty sure it is the oven element(s) that is the problem

It is not likely to be the wall switch, as if it were faulty, i would expect the trip to go right away.
If you want to check further, then turn on the oven again and see if it trips, if it does ,then it is definately the oven element(s) that is the problem.

If it is a fan assisted oven , the element is at the rear of the oven, and possibly one under the base ot the oven. If it is a conventional convection oven, then there is an element at each side of the oven, even if one is faulty, replace both.

Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Lights grill and fan work but oven isnt heating up

Hi there,

On our oven, we have to reset the clock before the oven will work. I think it's because of the automatic timer features.

Yours is a slightly different model, but on ours we have to press the two buttons with arrows on, at the same time as turning the clock dial. Once this is done, the oven should work again.

Good luck.

HI, MY ELECTROLUX SINGLE FAN OVEN EBO5665 DOES NOT HEAT UP TO ANY TEMP. THE OVEN IS ON, FAN ON,AND THE TIMER DIALS ARE SET. DOESNT HEAT UP. IT TRIPPED THE ELECTRIC SWITCH OFF AT THE TIME. ANY SUGGESTIONS!...

You probably have a bad ( or open ) heating element.. With the power removed.. look at the heating element and make sure it is connected properly and if after you check that it looks ok.. plug it in and try again.. if it fails to get hot..its probably bad.. Not sure what you mean when you say ' IT TRIPPED THE ELECTRIC SWITCH OFF AT THE TIME' but if it tripped the switch or circuit breaker .. your heating element may be shorting out to ground.. and would need to be replaced anyway... Hope that helps.
