Question about Viking 30" Professional Select Built-in Electric Single Oven - VESO130

Open Question

Viking VED0130SS double oven takes very long to reach temp.

The top oven seemed to start with the problem of taking a very long time to get to temp. After that happened we started to us the bottom oven that apparently has the same issue. The temp will get to 300 degrees fairly quickly, but then takes another 30-40 minutes to get up to 450 degrees.

Probably a faulty heater element, some ovens have more than one element in the compartment, so it is possible you only have part heat.

Adjust the knob to the actual temperature. There are usually screws inside toe back of the knob for this purpose.

SOURCE: have a viking professional oven and it takes too

A weak oven ignitor will cause this problem. even though it eventually lights the temp has dropped considerably so you don't get consistent temp. turn the oven on and listen for the burner to light. should light within about 2 minutes. if not replace oven ignitor(s)

Our Neff U1421 double oven has a problem with tripping the main fuse when the main oven reaches 180 degrees. The oven is in manual mode not using the clock timer, can you throw any light on the proble

yes i know exactly whats wrong, one of your high accuracy temp sensors will have gone.
these tell the thermo what the sides & top of the oven temp is.
unscrew the oven from the base unit & pull it out, take the top off & you'll see them little round cylinder looking things with 2 wires coming off them(see link for pic) there screwed to the shell. the one that will have gone will no doubt have burn wires, or connections.
their sometimes called temp switch sensors

Oven does not reach full temperature

Are you checking with a store bought thermometer or your recipe. If it is your recipe then ur thermostat might need a calibration or need to be changed completely if it is really off by more than 100 degrees. If it is 99 or less a simple calibration may just do it. If you have a steady hand. With your thermometer inside the oven and the door closed set at 350. Then take the oven knob off and take a small flat screw driver (really small). And insert it in the valve part where the knob was. With a flash light u can see the small screw. Turn it a hair at a time (1-2mm). Wait 20 minutes and see if the temp does rise. If not turn another hair. Repeat until 350 is reached. You must wait the 20-30 minutes for it to reach the temp. If all else fails changing the thermostat would be next. I do not recommend u do this alone. approx cost is: $400 - 500 front access, 500 - 600 rear access Good luck.

Doesn't get as hot as it should

the range has two thermostats one for each oven located under the oven knobs. put a meat thermometer in the oven and adjust the thermostat screw with a small flat screwdriver untill the oven turns off at the correct knob temp.
registered on the thermometer.
then adjust the knob screw on the back of the knob to match that temp setting.
clockwise is hotter counterclockwise is cooler
