Question about KitchenAid KSCS25FKSS Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

The ice maker is not getting water in my Kenmore fridge.

I've already tried replacing the motor module and the water supply valve. Neither have made a difference. When I unscrew the water supply at the top in the back of the fridge that goes from the valve to the ice maker, I can tell that no water is getting up that line. I have no idea what to do or what part to replace at this point. The model number on the fridge (Kenmore) is 52534101 if that helps anybody.

Hello, If you have replaced the ice maker and the inlet valve these are the only 2 components to an ice maker, May seem like a silly question but did you lower the arm on the ice maker to switch it on? did you turn the water supply back on after replacing the valve? With the water valve open try removing the water pipe to the valve to check you are getting water...If you have confirmed you are getting water the it can only be a bad ice maker or valve...put a shot glass on the ice maker and leave a few hours..if you find the shot glass in the ice bin then it's your valve..If shot glass does not move then your ice maker is either bad or incorrectly installed (plug my not be all way in). If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!!! Mike

Kenmore side by side. No water getting to the ice maker. Water in the door works fine. Have already replaced the filter.

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Kenmore 5483300 side by side. no ice!

your fridge will have a dual water inlet valve, one for water and one to supply water to the ice maker. it could be that the solenoid on the valve that supplies water to the ice maker is not working.

Ice maker will not produce Ice

Make suer the freezer temp is 5 degrees or lower. If not the ice maker will not operate. Also make sure that you have water pressure at the back of the fridge. If so, you most likely have a bad water valve. It is what your water supply connects to. You can test it like this. Disconect the water line on the fridge side of the valve. Unplug the wires from the valve. Supply 110v to the plug. If water comes out from where you disconected the line, the valv is good. If not, you will need to replace it. If you can't find the answer with this. Reply back and I'll talk you through until we find it.

Kenmore Ice Maker Not Making Ice

the water that is frozen in the fill tube could have come from the old water valve that you replaced ,you got to get the ice out, the easiest way ,though not the fastest ,is to unplug fridge for 24 hrs . and leave the doors open to let it defrost, the plug back up and hopefully in 5 or 6 hrs you'll have ice

Water doesnt stop after ice tray is filled

there is a micro switch in the ice maker motor module that shuts power off to the ice-maker water valve when the ice maker is full but i rarely see them go bad this is the easy way to deal with it pull the unit out unplug both the valves and turn the water on a sec if its running in the ice maker with the valves are unplugged then replace the valves if its not replace the ice-maker motor module

Amana ice-maker

Very curious. When you say the tube to the ice maker was disconnected I am unsure as to which tube you are refering to. However hopefully a few pointers might help a damsel. Most units have the water supply enter into the cabinet through a two way water solenoid valve (i.e. one for chilled water one for the ice maker). It then normally enters the top of the freezer section for the ice maker. It then drops down inside the freezer section to the icemaker module. Therefore the only control over the water for the icemaker is the solenoid valve which is controlled by the icemaker "module". A trick is to switch the control at the solenoid valve so that you can use the chilled water dispenser to check if the water valve for the icemaker is working. If it is then you probably have a problem with the icemaker module or the temperature in the freezer section (which you would probably have noticed if that was the case). If you have a problem with the module then you normally have to replace the module as they dont like supplying spares for modules.
Anyway hope this is of some help and good luck.

ps model is normally near the salad drawer or top of the fridge section dependent on brand.

Fridge freezer door ice maker

the ice maker controls the seloniod the icemaker wire arm must be all the way down .just because the seloniod test good doesnt mean the valve seat isnt stuck the water valves open by your house water pressure if your filter is dirty this can also lower the pressure if the icemaker module is bad this also can cause it if you pull the front of the ice-maker off you will se a bunch of holes if you get a piece of 10 Gage house strip about 1/4 inch off either side and insert it into the holes marked t and h that will test cycle the ice maker they will be close together don't get shocked if the ice maker cycles and doesnt fill and the ice maker fill tube isn't frozen replace the water valve if the ice-maker doesn't cycle replace the brown motor module
