If you can remove the memory card and put it into your computer it will see the card. If it does not automatically give you an optoin to veiw the pics. Go to:Start>Computer>expand computer in left pane(your card will have a drive letter and it's name after it i.e.E:\canon sd card.>select your card and look in the different folders, it's usually in DCIM>101 or other ### folders.

Testimonial: "was helpful, but unfortunately my computer wants to format before running and formatting will erase all pics on the card, but thanks."

can you cancel the format. open the folder with pics, then copy them into your documents or picture folder on your hard drive? I have seen these cards do some strange things.

If you still have trouble try rebooting your computer. After restart insert card and try again.

FYI; always let your camera finish processing a picture you have taken before turning it off & never remove the card while camera is on. If batteries die while processing a photo you can risk losing all pics on card. So download often and replace batteries before they die completely.

I MISPLACED MY KODAK CD HOW CAN I TRANSFER MY PIC TO COMPUTER

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Cannot download photos from Nikon Coolpix4600 and have misplaced the program that came with the camera.

Try connecting the camera to the PC and open the camera files using My Computer. You should be able to view the files and copy or move them from the camera to the desired folder on your computer.
If the camera can use an SD card, you could always copy the pics to the card and then connect the card to your computer and download them from there.
Most digital still software is just fancy image editing software anyway.

It appears in a recent move that I have misplaced the cd that programs the camera so that I can plug into my computer. It is possible to replace that. I now have 50 pictures in the camera that I cannot...

If your camera uses a memory card, just buy an inexpensive card reader and download your pics to a folder you create on your desktop. Double-click that and you can open your pictures.

File contains no image data

If you format, you will lose everything...format means erase and optimize. Take your card to a store like Walmart that has a Kodak picture maker machine. It will usually read all the pics on a card and you can make a cd of them on the machine.

LOST CD

Pecasa is a great free software. Try it.

You do not need cameras software to download pics from your camera, btw. Just plug in your camera to USB port and it shows as an external DRIVE or USB STORAGE device in your MYCOMPUTER folder. Just click on its drive letter and you are looking at your cameras memory.

Click on the folder called DCIM and then subfolder(s) named depending on camera model. For Panasonic it is 100_PANA for example. Click on this and here is your pics. View, Drag and Drop, Delete, etc any pic just as if it was already on your computer.

To down load all pics, Drag and Drop (or cut and paste)the whole pic folder (100_PANA for example) to a location on your computer, as \Documents\Pictures. To delete all pics on camera, right click on pics folder and delete 100_PANA folder. or folder where your pics show up on your camera.
