<p>Apple included an option to restrict access to your iPod
through the creation of a PIN code to lock the screen and to keep unwanted
users. Unfortunately forgot your password, not being able to access your music
when you're on. If you draw a blank password, you can reset it, but not before
you get home to your computer. Use your iPod to your iTunes software to reset
the security code. <br />
<p>1. Connect your iPod. Enter the password appears. <br />
<p>2. Connect the iPod to the computer you normally sync. <br />
<p>3. Run iTunes and wait for the iPod name appears in the left
pane of the iTunes window. <br />
<p>4. Click the "Eject" icon next to the iPod name in
the left pane. The device is unlocked. <br />
<p>5. Select "Extras" iPod. <br />
<p>6. Open the "Lock Screen" option. <br />
<p>7. Select "Turn off Screen Lock" Lock Screen menu.
If you use the restore feature in iTunes, it will return your iPod to factory settings. The songs/videos/games will be gone from the actual iPod, but they will remain in your iTunes Library and computer. You will need to upload them to your iPod again, but you won't need to re-buy anything.
Step 1: Turn on your computer, and connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with your iPod.
Step 2: Open up iTunes on your computer.
Step 3: In iTunes, go to the left side of your screen and scroll down, when you see your iPod, select it.
Step 4: You should now see on the right side of your screen some general iPod information. Scroll down to until you see a "Restore" button. This will erase everything that was on the iPod, and sync whatever is in your iTunes library. It is the only known way. Note: If this was helpful please vote for this solution!
Connect to iTunes, go to the settings menu of your iPod (click on the picture of your ipod on the bar on the side.) Then click "restore my ipod's settings," or something similar to that. You will have to re-sync your ipod, but your password will be removed. hope it helps
