Question about Heating & Cooling

First time lighting propane M1M Intertherm. Furnace cycles, but will not light the pilot. After 4 tries, it locks out and the red light blinks 4 times. Am I doing something wrong? I changed the orifice and checked it twice.

The main switch is on, the lines are purged, the orifice has been changed to a propane orifice and sometimes the yellow light comes on for 2 seconds or so, then goes off.

This is a brand new unit, never been lit. I have just installed the gas today, therefore it is all new equipment...no soot.

Once it is lit in the pilot position. Keep holding in this position with button down for exactly 1 minute, then WITHOUT releasing knob, turn to on position. If problem remains, you may have faulty valve spring. Check to see if valve stays up.

Sounds like a cracked heat exchange. The pilot assembly and the pilot orifice need to be pulled out and cleaned. When the pilot gets dirty, it doesn't get the right air/gas mixture which causes soot. Propane is known to produce soot when not burning properly. When cleaned properly it should be a strong blue flame rather than yellow/orange and lazy looking. If in doubt call a pro !

Hi,

Sometimes this happen due to bad transformers although it is rare.... although we could be seeing a tripped limit that is manual reset like the draft limit..... maybe you might not have turned back the "on" position after the pilot was lt" on the main gas valve.

Regards

Intertherm gas furnace in mobile home..igniter comes on then nothing tries to fire byrners but nothing

by igniter I assume you mean the thermocoupler. are you turning the control button to run after you light the pilot light? Normally when those furnaces quit it is the thermocoupler that has quit. Get a new one and leave it in the furnace compartment as a spare.

Intertherm furnace M1BG wont fire

Make sure the gas valve is turned to the ON position after you had it in PILOT position. Also check the thermostat low voltage wiring @ furnace...jumper the Red & White wires to bypass the thermostat temporarily. Make sure there is 24 volts on you low voltage circuit.

I have a intertherm with board 524602 0 9837. I have replaced the inigition coil and the furnace cycles but wont light after time out the red led will blink 4 times. What does that mean?

Check your filters and look for cobwebs and such then find the rollout switch that has tripped. Their is usually one on the burner rail one in the stack and a couple more. looks Like This:

Make sure the switch is off or you will get bit re-setting that if you have big fat fingers like me.

I have a goodman propane furnace, model # GMPN080-4 that lights for about five seconds and then cuts off. It does this three times and then stops all together. Tried lightly sanding the flame sensor and it...

The goodman furnace will try and light three time before it faults out for safety reasons. Adjust the flame sensor so that it is closer to the flame or actually in the pilot flame. If the flame sensor is inside the pilot flame and still does not stay lit, your flame sensor is probably defective and should be replaced. You can get one at Ferguson's counter sales.

if there are two wires to gas valve check voltage between these two wires while the furnace is going through a start up if you never get a call or voltage to valve your control board is bad, if you are getting voltage ,your valve is bad
