SOURCE: Problem - Turn off and turn on again - happens repeatedly

We see this camera often because the lens gets compressed some how and the plastic gears which drive it become damaged, this would be the "buzzing" noise you're hearing during power up. The camera is not passing its power up diagnostics and therefore it shuts down. The lens is not cost effective to replace on this camera, parts and labor exceed a replacement units cost. Hope this is some help. Good Luck Joe Weibel Custom Electronics (customelectronics.org)

Please turn camera off and then on again. it

Had the same issue with my DMC-FZ50 for a couple weeks, and tried turning it onn and off countless times. I could hear something happening inside the lens on start-up and surmised the internal shutter was trying to open but wasn't able to. I guessed that the turn off/turn on idea was to resend the command impulse to open the shutter. So.... I t urned it on while repeatedly hitting the side of the lens firmly with the palm of my hand and.....it worked!!!!

After loading (and using) the photofun software on

You need to boot in safe mode. Usually, this means to press F8 key repeatedly after turning on your computer. Once in safe mode, go into add/remove programs and remove the offending software. Then, reboot normally and you should be good to go.

When i turn my camera on it says to turn it off again

Usually a lens problem. 95 percent of the time it has suffered a knock or has grit/sand in the lens. will need to go in for service. Does the lens move out at all?

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-F55 and the len will not come out.The on screen message says turn the camera off and then on again but this process just repeats itself. Be grateful for any suggestions.

Sorry, it needs to go in for service.
Usually this type of fault happens due to sand/ grit in the mechanism or it has suffered a knock/ drop.
If it is grit/ sand then they may just clean the lens mechanism.
If it has suffered an impact, then it will probably need replacement. you may want to get your household insurance involved at that point.

Sorry for the bad news.
Cheers.
