Sounds like one of your cartridges has been damaged. I had this after I had re-set one. Take them out and check the rollers for scratch marks. Then replace the damaged cartridge.

HP 1315v Printer Makes grinding noise and won't feed paper anymore

It sounds as though a sheet of paper or an envelope bunched up and has jammed inside. Until that is removed from the feed roller, you will continue to hear the 'grinding' sound, and won't be able to print anything. Remove the cover from the backside of the machine, then locate and remove the obstruction. If you don't have any such obstruction then you have a mechanical defect which is not user repairable.

THe printer is making a screeching sound as the printed paper comes out. I also appears that the print quality is lessened and areas of pink speckles. It is not telling me to replace the drum, or waste...

hello, you say you here the noise when its printing, how about when machine is powered on, or when the front door is closed, and the machine is cycling up. the reason behind this is to check to see if the problem may be with the consumables. one thing then to try is run only the test page, from the control panel, if the noise occurs try to pin point it, if its from paper feed or maybe the fuser area. the fuser might be making noise due to the bearings that are in it. if from the paper feed then it might be the front door assembly, so try feeding from the manual feed tray, and see if that also makes noise. if it is then the front door assembly, will need a good looking at. now i still have not covered fans on this machine or the actual laser unit if this machine, way too much to look into. so i need more info. okay, i forgot, when the paper is exiting machine, before printing, open up back cover, cheat the cover switch, and run test page, i had forgotten that the section of this machine, has a unique output assembly, that is driven by small gears, i have found that this unit makes noise as well as paper jams, so if you run machine with the back cover open, the paper will just fall out the back, but you will not hear any noise, so this output might be the problem, i have only run into this problem twice. so this try it.

Brother MFC-9420CN Paper Jam Error message w/ loud grinding noiz

please try this

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Constant yellow blinking light, no paper jam

I found this on the HP support site:

The power light is on, and the resume light is blinking.

c00109831.gifc01272271.gifc00109834.gif The printer might be waiting to complete a print job or to receive data from your computer.

Solution

Wait for the printer to finish the current task. The printer is waiting for the ink to dry on freshly printed paper.

Solution

  1. Remove the paper with fresh ink.
  2. Press the resume button.
The printer might be out of paper.

Solution

  1. Load paper in the paper tray.
  2. Press the resume button.
The printer might have a paper jam.

Solution

Clear the paper jam. If the resume light continues to blink after the paper jam is cleared,

OR

if the print carriage is stuck or making a grinding noise, then follow these steps.

Solution

  1. Lift the top cover of the printer.
  2. Turn the printer off and then on again.
  3. Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer when the grinding noise starts. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
  4. Movethe print carriage toward the middle of the printer (this proceduremight take a couple of tries to get the timing correct).
  5. Remove the print cartridges and close the top cover.
  6. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  7. Open the top cover, reinstall the print cartridges, and then close the top cover.
The printer may be ready to eject banner paper.

Solution

Press the resume button to eject the banner paper.

GRINDING NOISE or PAPER JAM

If you are not a technical person best thing to do is to show it to an expert. grinding noise means some part in the machine is running with the friction. and might brake something or scratch something. Find out persons who work on photocopiers in your area either samsung or Xerox. as this model comes with both the companies and Xerox people are generly better than samsung people.

My printer, makes a grinding noise, when the paper is feeding through when printinig?

Look to make sure that there isn't a small bit of paper caught in the wheels that push the paper through. Over time, even a small bit in the corner can destroy your printer.

Gears grinding with Brother Intellifax 4100

Does it only make the noise when printing. Do you hear the noise when sending out faxes? I have heard grinding noises onlt when using poor quality toner refills, or the fuser gear and or drive gear asm is stripped. First try a known good OEM toner.
