Hotpoint washing machines red led flashes related questions and answers. ... then off When i turn on the washing machine - Hotpoint wf640p - the LED display flashes all the 8s (so ... Question about Aquarius WD640 Front Load Washer/Dryer.
The problem is basically caused by doing too many low temp washes.
The scum you refer to is actually bacteria that is bulding up on the door seal.
To avoid this problem reoccuring, the best thing to do is to have the door seal replaced, and periodically do a high temp wash with powder in, but without clothes..
This is called a maintenance wash, and is recommended by most manufactures
Also, after each wash, clean and dry the door seal, this will help prolong it's life.
Hope this helps answer your question.

the applionce is in demmo mode and running a test cycle so you need to cancle the cycle first by holding the start reset button until all the screen iluminates(88:88) now you need to disable the demo mode by holding the start cancle and the on off buttons together until you see D OFF in some cases you may need to hold the button to the top left of the screen and the start and on off buttons but this will sort it
this fault i find interesting, i had a f860p doing the same thing after the power went off, i was told to press both the start and on button together for a few seconds etc, or something like that, it didnt work for me, but it worked for someone else on here who had same machine and same fault
if this cures it for you get back to me and tell me exactly what you did as i still have the machine in storage, i have spare machines
The detergent/softner dispenser is located above the detergent drawer.
A water pipe is connected to it and water entrance and distribution to drawer's cells (following the programmed cycle)are
done by a lever's movement (part of the dispenser). The lever movement is controlled by two solenoids that received their power from the timer.
By opening upper machine's cover you will have an access to the dispenser.
Disconnect the power cable from the machine before moving to next step !!!!
Look first that they are not any disconnected wires.
Move manually dispenser's lever and see if water running to all cells (depend on your movement). In case it doesn't work properly remove the unit from the machine and try to clean it (I hope it will help, otherwise you should replace the unit).
In case it works properly (manually) - you should test with a multi-tester solenoid's resistance. the one that doesn't have a resistance measurement should be replaced.
Good luck !!
