I have this problem too.If you set the DVD player resolution to 480p instead of 1080p it will not have the blackouts anymore. Of course this defeats the whole purpose of buying an "upscaling" DVD player. Just curious: what TV's are-you using?

I bought the same dvd player about a year and a half ago and it does the same thing. It went in for service once and then the store (Future Shop) exchanged it for another unit when it went back the second time. So far, the "new" one has been in twice for service. I'm going to retire it and buy a blu-ray. It's too bad, because other than the intermittent "black-outs", it seems to be a decent machine.

Nothing you can do. After 10 MONTHS of them working on mine, they supposedly made a firmware to fix it...it didn't. Their final solution is they simply don't make the machine anymore. In other words...stay clear of this machine!! Also, store credit is the only thing they will give you. And also, for the record, I bought it for the 1080p quality, not 480p!

Sorry, one more add...the sound will eventually go out too, as the problem will get progressively worse over time.

I have the exact same problem with my lg ht963ta unit. I was wondering if anyone found out what causes this issue and has anyone found a solution that is permanent, my player has been two times to the shop and they can't pin point it and LG customer service is not very helpful.

    pls help

I had it repaired by a specialist hired by LG. It was a small repair shop near Cornwall (Ontario). I called LG and they reffered me to that guy. He took care of the problem and 2 weeks later I had a home theater running perfectly in full HD. I haven't had any problems since.

Call LG. They will reffer you to a specialist that will take care of the problem. I was sent to a guy with a small TV and electronics shop near Cornwall (Ontario). He took care of the problem in a mather of weeks and my home theater has been running wonderfully in full HD since then. I wasn't sure at first if that was the solution but trust me, it was. And by the way, it didn't even cost me a dime.

T v and home theatre sony bravia

As most home theatre systems offer no analogue audio input and only use the audio coming from the dvd being played the short answer is no.

If your home theatre system has a digital input and the tv has the corresponding output then yes you could me able to connect the two. Otherwise you could try to get hold of a analogue to digital converter and convert the tv's audio out to digital.
