Question about Samsung SGH-G600 Cellular Phone

Open Question

I'm having trouble connecting my phone to my PC now. It was working fine up until a week ago. I was running out of disc space on my hard drive so I uninstalled Samsung Studio, thinking that the driver would stay because I never used the Studio and always connected via mass storage. I went to connect my phone a few days ago and my phone is saying "Connecting to PC" but there is nothing registering on the computer. The drive isn't coming up and it's not recognising that I've plugged in a USB device. I've since reinstalled PC Studio but whenever I try to install the driver from the disc, it's coming up with an error and closing. I then completely uninstalled the program and reinstalled it from Samsung's site. Still, whenever I try to connect and run PC Studio, it's saying the phone is not connected. I've tried redownloading the serial on the phone but it's still not working. The phone is charging when connected via USB...so the computer must know it's connected somewhere.

The hard disk inside that Spire case has died - running the free space clean from CCleaner (a very intensive procedure) has been the death blow to an already sick disk.. Nothing more can be done to save it and the data on it. Replace it with a new one.

Hi,

The E01 error is a hardware error with the drive. I would try a new disk fist to see if it's just having trouble reading the one you're using but if that doesn't work it's most likely a failure in the drive itself and needs to either be sent in for warranty or replaced.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Western Digital 250GB My Book Trouble Accessing

you may need a better faster computer fan such as a product from antec if you have it in your desktop. if it is an external hard drive you will need to send back to the company or take it to your local frys electronics if you have one and go to the service center by the computers and computer accessories.

Hello,

The sequence you plug in the hard drive shouldn't matter. I would click Start -> Run and type:

eventvwr

Click okay. When the Event Viewer loads, click Application. Do you see any errors associated with the times you plug in the drive? Also, check the System events and look for the same thing.

If I were you, I would replace the cable connecting the computer to the external drive. If that doesn't work, I would get another external enclosure and transfer your drive to it.

Sounds like both of you have what is called 'Microsoft Blue Screen Of Death' and is irreversible, but is fixable at the same time. If you need files on your computer then follow these instructions

  1. Turn on computer and Insert Windows XP Installation Disc that came with your computer
  2. Wait until it says 'Press any key to boot from CD....' and press any key
  3. Wait until it comes up with prompts and choose 'Install Windows XP
  4. Choose to install XP without formatting the hard drive and choose a made partition (C Drive) to install NTFS
  5. Install and now your system will be working again. You will be prompted from now on though which Operating System you would like to use. Always select the first one
  6. Enjoy
For if you want to erase the hard drive
  1. Follow steps 1 - 3 in above instructions
  2. Choose 'Format Hard Drive'
  3. Select create partition in Hard Drive and set it to the maximum space and call (C)
  4. Select NTFS and go through instructions
  5. You won't be asked to choose a OS as there is only one to choose from
  6. Enjoy
Hope This Helps

Hard disc not geting formated

first of all here is the explanation of what has happened to drive c:

unfotunately the damaged area in your hard drive is in c most probably drive c is unusable any more .
the reason that u see 2 windows xp professional at start up is that there was an incomplete windows instalation in drive c.
i think drive d is safe but since the hard disk is still under warranty i strongly advice you to give it back and get a new one.

Hard Drive Problem

This has happened to me once. I unplugged it overnight and plugged is back in and everything (Except for the for the DVD that was being written when it malfunctioned) Worked fine. I suspect that a Capacitor is going bad but it’s still working (for 4 months) and I will put off any real trouble shooting until it fails hard.

Various issues can cause drives to occasionally balk at writing optical discs. These run the gamut of physical, hardware, and software troubles.

Inappropriate or dirty media may be to blame. Make sure to match the type of recordable disc to the drive, and check each disc for fingerprints or other contaminants. If a disc is dirty, wipe it with a clean, soft cloth in a straight line from the center hole outward. Try a quality optical drive cleaning disc if you suspect dust contamination on the drive’s laser lens.

Some discs don’t perform well with certain drives, even within their rated speeds. Try recording at a slower speed and then with a different brand of disc. Also, on PCs, verify that the temporary file storage area on the hard drive used by the burning software has enough free, defragmented space. Allocate at least 5GB for a DVD (9GB for a double-layer [DL] disc) and about 1GB for CD burning.
