Question about Canon PIXMA MP190 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

Ink cartridges After the ink cartridges ran out on my new canon printer my son ordered new ones called Gree Tech which were supposed to be compatible but my initial attempt with a new colour one was a pink/red photo. After trying again today I cannot print anything as the ink lights are showing orange and I keep being informed that the printer is offline and no ink.I have now ordered Canon ink cartridges but I am concerned that I have damaged the printer and will be worried about installing these ink cartridges when I receive them from Amazon Help.

My opionion is that I don't think you did any damage to your printer and when you get the Canon Ink cartridges they should work fine. The issue is that manufactures build in software with their hardware so that in order for the maintenance features to work they require their brand HP does this where you can't even get an ink level. The auto adjust or manual choice is most likely not working with that brand you installed.Good Luck

Its never recommended to use refurbished or local ink cartridges but you try removing the cello tape from the mouth of the cartridge. There are very low possibility of damaging the printer by using old cartridges.

Recently got a cheap compatible replacement ink cartridge for my canon mp160. Did the whole "new ink cartridge" blah blah, even turned the colour level thing off. For some reason now, it's only...

This is called E5 error when you insert refilled cartridge or compatible.....
Printer does not read that particular cartridge.

No solution other than replacing with brand new one.

If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK".
Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good.
For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video.
And will see how easy ink refill can be done.

How does one rest ink chip on Canon Prixma MP 980?

I believe you have to press resume to get the non chipped carts to work.At this time there ar no resets available other than the resume.
You will void your warranty.
Call Canon and tell them the printer is not working and take advantage of your 1 year warranty and only use Canon inks from now on or until reset is available.
If you want you can mention that you USED non Canon ink.

Why won't my CX9400F recognize Epson ink cartridges

The Epson CX9400F printer seems to require replacement of all the color ink cartridges, even if only the Black is empty.

I print almost exclusively in Black, but with my first change of Black, I was forced to change all the color. At the time I thought Epson did not provide completely filled color ink cartridges.

Just yesterday, I replaced Black and the printer complained it did not recognize the rest of color cartridges. So I replaced all the other color ink cartridges and now it works fine.

You might want to check out www.clickinks.com for cheaper, mail order alternatives which are Epson ink compatible, if you are not in a hurry.

Canon i450 Printing issue

this clearly indicates that the printhead of your black cartridge is completely blocked and it needs internal cleaning which cannot be done by printers cleaning commands.the print head has to be removed from the printer and and then cleaned with isoprophyll and soft tissue very slowly and gently.if u dont have a technical idea taking it to the repair center is advisable.

hope this helps.....
thanks.

Canon Pixma MP530 All-In-One

I had contacted Canon to resolve my problem.

Through the technician I am informed that the printer has to be sent back for service as one of the 4 pins on print-head print has dropped off leaving only 3pins that is why the error code U043 simply occur which is why replacing another new ink cartridge does not resolve the issue.

I have understand from him that:-
  1. Most of the time when error code flash up, usually are due to the unique feature that Canon has build on the ink cartridges not properly done which resulted to be faulty. Canon's purpose is to prevent the usage of 3rd party ink cartridges. Of course this causes inconvenient to users, but if users are not using 3rd party ink cartridges, once detected is Canon's ink cartridge issue, do contact Canon, they will provide house call for 1 to 1 exchange for the ink cartridge.
  2. Other times if by replacing new ink cartridge the problem for error code still occurs, it might be the pin on the print-head has lost the alighting, this will require for Canon to service to alight back the pin on print-head in order for the printer to operate smoothly again.
  3. If your problem is like mine, inputting the ink cartridge into the wrong slot, well I guess only have to contact Canon as the printer's components used seem to be highly sensitive, by input the wrong slot would have caused scatches on the pin, well it is better to have the ink cartridge remove by the expert than to DIY. (Maybe check with your own nearby technician if by any lucks they can help to rescue your printer, which I hope Canon does not have further enhancement on their printer with other Unique features to prevent users from using 3rd party technical support.)
I hope the above information will help all the troubled Canon printer users as I notice from previous search on this website, there are other users having problem like ink cartridge is only partial used, but error code appear to check ink cartridge, maybe trying to taking out and putting back, it works sometime and problem occurs again, by replace a new ink cartridge will help as the partial used one would be faulty already, and do call up Canon to report the issue and they will exchange a new ink cartridge for the faulty partial used cartridge.
