ApprenticeAnother way to adjust the screen brightness is to hold down the Functin key (blue, Fn) and then repeatedly press the up or down arrows (which also show the symbol for screen brightness on the keys in blue.)

For TC 4400 Tablet PC, Adjusting the brightness:
While in notebook mode: press Fn+F9 and Fn+F10
While in tablet mode: press Q on the display bezel to bring up the Q Menu, select the Brightness radio button, then use the jog dial to adjust the brightness.
