First, you transfer the pictures from the Camera to the Computer.
Connect the Camera to the Computer using the supplied USB cable to transfer the pictures to the Computer. Make sure that the "USB Select" option is displayed on the Camera screen when it's connected to the Computer.
As soon as the Camera is connected to the Computer, it's recognized as a removable drive. Double click the removable drive in the Computer window that represents the connected Sony Camera to view and navigate through the folders.

You can see "DCIM" folder that contains all the captured images. Press "CTRL+A" to select all the images then press "CTRL+C" to copy all the images. Then, select a folder on the Computer to store the images from the Camera and press "CTRL+V" to paste all the selected images.

This will transfer all the images from the Camera to the Computer.

Now, log in to your email account then click on the attach files option then locate the image files on the Computer and add it.

The mamory card in the camera will show up as a "Removable Disk" on your computer.

1. Go to "My Computer". The camera will probably be Drive E.
2. Click on Drive E (or whatever the "removable disk" is) and open (click) any folders that show up. The pictures will be several folders down.
3. You can then copy these to your "My Pictures" folder in "My Documents" or "browse" to that drive when you want to attach a picture to your email

Hope this helps!

I have a sony cyber-shot 1.3 mega pixels camera

Apparently we're not talking about a DSC-P200 since that's a 7MP camera and you claim to have a 1.3MP camera.

You can go to the manufacturer's support site at http://esupport.sony.com/US and enter the appropriate model number into the search box.

Usb cable

try to plug your wire at the back panel of your desktop (not in the front USB Port) and if it still doesn't work, the cable would be either of inferior quality or could be having manufacturing fault. please check with alternate cable as well.
