Ice maker will not fill .pour water in manually and eventually it may or may not dispense.

WATER INLET VALVE:

Check the water inlet valve for any restrictions. You will need to shut off the valve from the household water supply before you disconnect the inlet tubing. Some water inlet valves may have a screen to filter debris before it can enter the valve. If the screen is plugged, water flow will be restricted and the result will be small or layered ice cubes. Remove and clean the screen or replace the valve. If dirt has gotten into the valve it may not shut off completely and will continuously drip water into the ice maker fill tube and will eventually freeze up. Low household water pressure or a restriction at the manual shut off valve will also cause the water inlet valve to not shut off completely and create this same condition. Self piercing saddle valves are the most common shut off valve to cause this problem as the hole that is pierced in the water line is often too small and will more easily become restricted.

The water inlet valve is operated by line voltage supplied through the ice maker control. Power is applied for approximately 7-9 seconds during the harvest cycle and energizes the solenoid on the valve to allow water to flow.
You can check the solenoid for continuity with a multi-meter. On models with multiple solenoid inlet valves, you will need to determine which portion or portions of the valve are used for the ice maker. You can normally follow the inlet tubing from the ice maker back to the valve. Unplug the refrigerator and turn off the water supply to the valve before working with this part.

(HOW TO TEST INLET VALVE: Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush or warm running water. If you cannot clear theclog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves). Test thewaterinletvalve for continuity using a multImeter. First, inspect the coil for an indication of it's ohm rating. If no information is printed on the coil, then use the range of 170 to 500 ohms. Set the multitester to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multitester should display a reading that matches the coil's rating or if you don't know the rating then it should fall into the range of 170 to 500 ohms. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced. If the inlet valve has two coils, test the second coil in the same way (note that they may not have the same ohm rating). The valve can also fail mechanically. So even if it passes the electrical test, it may still require replacement. If you have ruled out all other possibilities, go ahead and replace the valve.

Check the tap valve.A bad tap valve-the little device that connects the ice maker's water supply tube to the water pipe-may cause the problem where the ice maker's supply tube connects to the water pipe. If necessary, replace the inlet valve and the tap valve. For the tap valve, use the type that requires you to drill a 1/4-inch hole (as opposed to the "self-piercing" type). You can buy anice maker connection kitand do this yourself, or call a repair person or plumber to install an inline water filter when replacing the valve.

Asko dishwasher 1875. Saying F2 fault. Reset doesnt fix. Water slowly running in constantly even when switched off. Pump runs if left on but if turned off it floods. any ideas?

Just wrote you a massive explanation then closed my window by accident. Lets try again!

From what you say, with water running even when powered off, this is certainly a mechanical failure of the water inlet valve. There will only be a couple of possible causes for this:

1) The valve is being jammed open by an obstruction, possibly grit in the water supply (did you have plumbing work done recently or work on the water supply in the street? This would be a classic cause). If an obstruction is the case then repeatedly starting a fill cycle, draining and satrting the fill again MAY shift the blockage.

2) There is a failure of the valve its self. Essentially it's just a valve with rubber seals operated by a small electro magnet and sometimes the seals fail (often as a result of a poor water supply allowing grit into the rubbers).

If the information at (1) above doesn't help, you may have to replace the valve (Though in examining it when you come to take it out, you may be able to locate and remove an obstruction).

To help you out there is a parts manual for your machine available in PDF here:

http://www.greatplainsapplianceparts.com/order/Parts%20Manuals/Asko/ASKO-Dishwasher/D3112%20(DW20.1)%20SS.pdf

Looks like the diagram on page 2 shows that you need part 135, although it seems to me that the author of the manual has got part 135 (Part No. 8073774 Cord Set) mixed up with part 140 ( Part No. 8073825 Inl. Valve Single 120V Sens.).

I imagine that if you go to the ASKO website and use the contact us option:
http://www.askousa.com/customer-care/contact-us/
They should be able to clear that up for you

Hope this all helps

Asko w6 222 has a F1 error. how do I fix it. thanks Rose

Hello Rose, here is a chart to help you identify what the problem is with your asko
Failure
Code
Condition Check/Repair F1 Water supply/low water fill · Check water supply to machine
·Replace water inlet valve F2 Water level too high · Plugged/Bad water pump
· Faulty water valve F3 Pump problem Check pump trap and clean. F4 Thermistor problem · Open thermistor, replace
· Bad wiring to thermistor F5 Fault in thermal cutout or heating pause fault. Selected temperature not reached in 90 minutes · Check heating element
· Check thermostat F6 Motor fault · Check wiring to motor
· Replace motor if necessary F7 Door lock release fault · Bent pull-rod for door latch
· Bad door latch solenoid 00 00 Machine did not spin Check load for out of balance Redistribute load and restart
usually this means the water valve that the hoses are connecting into the machine has gone bad and needs to be replaced if your looking to order the part online i would suggest marcone appliance parts they seem to be the cheapest when it comes to repair parts and they are also one of the biggest I hope this opinion has helped in your appliacne situation and if i can answer any further questions please message me back. Please also remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation
Thanks again

CHECK THAT THE WATER IS ON TO THE UNIT, AND IF VOLTAGE IS AT WATER INLET VALVE. IF VOLTAGE THEN WATER SHOULD BE COMING IN EITHER BAD INLET VALVE OF CLOGGED SCREEN IF THERE IS VOLTAGE TO VALVE. NO VOLTAGE THEN CONNECTIONS OR TIMER WOULD BE NEXT.

Asko D3530 water inlet fault code, water valve is on, water comes in but after water comes in for a couple of minutes we get a (inlet water fault code) check power at circulating pump no 120v unit will not...

Hello,

It is common for these valves to "appear" to be ok, meaning they begin to allow water into the unit, but then one of the two coils or plungers inside fail, or are clogged with mineral deposit from the water or other debris.

Change the valve and you should be fine. part #1164471, you can find it at select parts depots or on-line retailers like repairclinic.com etc.

** Hire a pro or make sure to use a good replacement clamp on the fill line to the tub when you replace the valve, as well as some plumbers puddy/tape on the inlet fitting. Those little buggers have alot of water pressure going thru them when they open and I've seen them come off or leak due to insufficient fastening/loose clamps, then your machine goes into "flood mode".**

Asko seems to be repeating their past. On the earlier DW95 series (mid 90's to around 2000ish) they had a dual valve inlet which had a single valve rework issued to repair the faulty dual valves, now it looks like they're doing it again. Go figure.

Hope that helps, let me know.

Good Luck :)

All all water inlet valves created equal :)

The short answer is no, all dishwasher valves are not the same. Newer dishwashers use much less water than older ones, and the valves are often ones which allow a lower flow rate (just like newer shower heads with low flow rates to conserve water) so that the timed fill cycle lets in a smaller amount of water. I do not have parts info for DCS, but this is what I would try: Units old enough to have discontinued parts probably did use basically the same water valves back then. Try a GE valve # WD15X93. The mounting may have to be modified, but you could even let the valve hang without mounting it to the dishwasher. (won't hurt a thing) Please don't bother rating this, as anything other than a FixYa will lower my score. Thanks.

Asko D1716 dishwasher problem

I also have an Asko D1716 dishwasher. The water stopped flowing. I replaced the water inlet valve and I have another problem, but the replacement of the fill valve is now letting in water. You can call Asko at 1-800-898-1879 to order the parts. If you order from Asko, I'm told you have some warranty on the parts. Anyway, the screws take a star drive and there is a front plate and back plate you will need to remove. There are approx. 4 screws on the front and 4 screws on the back. Just remember to unplug it before starting any work. The fill valve is in front of the machine. There are 2 screws holding it in place from the front. You will need to remove it out the back though to replace it since the fill tube to the tub is short and it wont allow you to pull it out the front. The repair is really easy once you get started.

Hope this helps,

Sargeantfod
