Sir, this means that the sim is either inactive or it is rejectected. so, don't worry! just go to near by sim outlet and request them to give a duplicate sim.

If you havent used your phone for a long time then you sim will be disconnected.
You need to call your service provider, sometimes the can reactivate it if has been unregistered for a short time.
If it has been a while, then you will have to purchasea new sim card, although you should be able to keep your old number if required.
