Question about RCA HD61W66 61" Projection HDTV
The cost about $300 parts and labors.U can do the repair ur self about $100,but require ordering the parts in the net.Must take the tv aparts.Have to desolder the parts,put in the parts correctly and resolder it.This website for the Net ordering parts.Tv Repair World.com.

The typical issue surrounding this is that the solder that was used in factory was low quality and non-lead based. After some time the solder would heat up, cool off, heat up, cool off etc... and eventually the solder would start to crack. When the solder cracks, the flyback transister starts sending wierd amps thru the the fuses and tends to blow the convergenge fuse. (Middle fuse right beside the flyback) A temp solution is to just replace the fuse but a much better solution is to get a lead base solder, resolder the flyback on and resolder the fuses. (You should also check your fuses before and after with a continuiety metre)

Actually, it is less than $10 in parts.
$3 if you got lucky. You will need the FL231 fuse, and possibly some capacitors if they're bulging. Replace the fuse and resolder the flyback.
