My acer aspire 7520-5185 will not turn on

Take out the battery then press and hold power button for about 30 seconds, then put battery back in again and try to turn on. Might as well leave it without the battery for some time after holding the power button. If that doesn't help try removing RAM and turning it on without it.
By the way.. any beeps?

I recently change dc jack no power indicator computer lights for a minute then turn off

Remove the main battery and try again, next sub out the ram one at time testing as you go, sub another power supply if possible to be sure it is working correctly. If none of this helps, the motherboard is the next logical suspect.

Im not getting any display or sound on my acer 4520.It comes on but that 's it.

One
Check all your media slots have nothing in them, i.e. USB, CD/DVD drive and flash drives etc. Try a start with AC cord only, and no battery, then no AC with battery only, if that didn't work then let's move on.
Two
1. Remove the battery and AC cord. Remove the bottom cover/covers of your laptop and make sure the cooling path is free of fluff and dust. Check the heat sink on the CPU is not loose, if so tighten the screws back down that hold it on.
2. Remove and reseat your RAM modules.
3. Replace your covers.
4. Hold down your power button for 1 minute (Battery and AC still disconnected).
5. Replace your AC power (not battery) and turn on. This is called a hard reset. If it works COOL, then replace your battery. If that didn't work then let's move on.
Three
Remove your HD, and try starting your laptop. If it goes through the POST, and then a black screen appears with the message Operating System Not Found, and remains at this screen, then your HD is faulty. Replace with new HD. If that didn't work then let's move on.

Four

Next prove you dont have bad RAM. You need to identify what one is faulty. Remove all the RAM. Take one stick at a time, and swap it around the RAM slots to see if the laptop will start. You have now identified the good RAM. If each stick produces the fault, then you may have two sticks of bad RAM or a bad RAM slot. Borrow or buy known working RAM. If that didn't work then let's move on.

Try to unplug the ac adapter (charger), remove the battery(located on the bottom) and without the power sources (w/o battery and ac adapter), hold down na power button 10 secs. Put the power sources back and turn ON the laptop.

Acer aspire 5050 won't power up. have tried charger on different laptop and it works,

What you need to do is remove/replace "Bits" one at a time, ie: The hard drive, then the DVD, swap out the RAM... until it boots? or at least shows the initial screen. A laptop should display video with, just power adapter, RAM & NO Battery, HD, or DVD connected, although it obviously will not boot as such. If this still doesn't boot/show initial video after this you may find the Motherboard is faulty

Hi,
sounds as if the laptops in hibernation or sleep mode.
Try refering to the user manual regarding the mentioned points.
also try alternating the memory from slot to slot, 1 faulty slot or ram module, will cause the computer not to boot.
Finally, if this is a model that has a ribbon-cable from power switch, to motherboard. ensure it,s inserted correctly/square et,c.

Hope this helps, thankyou for using Fixya.

Aspire 5610 problems with motherboard

Very simply can be some loose hardware.

First thing is to take the battery out and unplug it from the wall. Plug it back in w/o the battery and try turning it on. If it boots great, if not unplug it to shut it off immediately and try turning it on again. Lot of no boot issues are because the system is in a failed sleep/hibernate and just wont get out of it until you do the above.

Try re-seating the RAM (hopefully it's not under the keyboard or somewhere hard to get). The RAM they ship with these units is low yield stuff so even though the RAM is good, and the slot is good, they're not making a good connection cause it's cheap stuff so you may want to try a different RAM chip all together.

Sometimes it can be a loose processor which is usually a lot harder to get to unless your savvy.
