will it continue to run on choke? if it does you have an air leak, if not then you may have a faulty carburetor that isn't stopping the flow of fuel and it is flooding itself out

It is very easy to flood this item mind you its easy to flood all petrol trimmers. If plug is wet simply turn the switch to off and pull cord at least 15 times you should get the engine to start coughing keep pull cord but do not turn the petrol on do not prime it either. It should catch. If it does not push the primer once and pull cord

When i pull the cord to start it gas is spraying out the exhaust. What is the problem

The problem is the needle valve inside the carb is stuck open causing fuel to fill the cylinder. This why gas is coming out of the muffler. You have to rebuild the carb but you have to determine if you have a walboro or zama style carb in order to get the right rebuild kit. make sure you get the full rebuild kit that comes with a new needle valve and adjust the needle valve so that its flush with the slot that it fits in. Also remove the spark plug and pull the starter until all the fuel is out of the cylinder.

Black Max 7000w 8750 surge 13hp. pulled start cord twice very hard then would no longer turn over engine, locked.

Pull the spark plug out and try pulling the cord. Sometimes it gets flooded and the cylinder fills with fuel and hydro locks. When you pull the cord and there is fuel/oil in the cylinder, it will fly out when you pull it. Stay out of the way.

If that is not the problem ( I think it is though), double check the oil level. Check the color of the oil, it should not have any silvery color. It should also not be overfull. If it is......smell it......, does it smell like gasoline? If it is overfull, and smells like gas, you have a carburetor problem. And if you do chances are you already know that, it will leak and drip, unless you shut the fuel valve off.

If everything seems fine...,and you still have a stuck motor, you will need to seperate the generator from the engine and determine which one is actually stuck.

Hope it's just a leaky needle and seat in the carb. causing your flooding.

When i start it up and let it run for the 30-60 seconds then squeeze throttle it doesn't want to run. almost like it either starves or floods.

Definitely sounds like a fuel delivery issue. It may be time to install a diaghram kit or rebuild kit on the carb. The sensitive internal parts don't last forever. You can check for flooding immediately after by pulling the plug. If it is real wet, either the plug isn't firing to its full potential or the carb is indeed flooding. Those carb kits aren't too hard to install and you may be able to get by with just the cheaper diaghram kit.

No floats in chainsaw carbs. Severly flooded most common start problem with chainsaws. Read and follow the start procedure in your manual. Don't use choke on flooded engine (may set fast idle, set then turn off)!

Start Procedure
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws); pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls)
  4. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  5. Push (open) choke pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull)

  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws) - Don’t pull with choke closed.

Hope this helps

Mariner 25 hp 2 stroke hard to start then quits and won't restart

It sounds like the float is sticking in the carb. Since the carb is higher than the fuel tank it pulls the fuel in by vaccum of the engine. when running at high rpms, it can burn the fuel thats flowing into the carb, when you idle down, the bowl of the carb is filling up with fuel faster than the engine can burn it and causing it to flood. Then when it shuts off at idle it does not want to start back up because it is flooded. To make a long stary short, pull the carb and give it a good cleaning and your problems should be solved.

Are the cabies flooding or runing out of fuel? pull the choke on dose it help if it does low fuel.

Drain the bowls and see if there is plenty of fuel.....If its flooding turn the fuel off or block it when the engine starts to drop clys if it starts to pick up after 10secs or so the carbies are flooding
