Ice maker fills and freezes won't dump ice. It will if I hit the test button but not on its own

It sounds like it may be a bad freeze sensor. Consider having it services.
HOWEVER
The first thing I would recommend is removing the necessary grills and clean the condenser area and be sure the fan is operating. This becomes a problem in clean homes because the dirt slides on the floor and into the condenser coil where as the dirt sticks to a dirty floor.

Samsung RF260BEAEBC ice maker stopped working for 2 weeks. It just started working again. Have no idea why. How do I diagnose the cause?

Hello James;

My name is peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

It is not uncommon, especially with the flex mold type ice makers to have a ice cub jam the operation. I have gone on many a service call to find this the problem. I suspect over a period of time the vibration of opening and closing the bottom freezer door may have jarred it loose. Your rocker arm may also have been stuck.

It is not common but possible that the ice maker water solenoid valve spool may have been stuck. I would check this by gently tapping on the solenoid valve with a tool. It may have freed itself once again over time through normal operation vibration.

The ice maker makes a loud racket unless the freezer door is open.

You have an object jammed in ice makers path. The freezer door has something on it that is pushing into the ice maker perhaps.

Ice maker not working on Kenmore Model # 106.54563300 Water comes through water dispenser fine Water came pouring out through ice dispenser door so I flipped bar up to turn it off Removed front box held in...

First the arm has to be in the down position. It sounds like you said theres water in the ice maker. If thats the case then it should have frozed. The ice cannot drop unless the ice maker heater comes on. Then the ice maker scoops the ice and drops into the resoviour thingy. If you have ice in the ice maker tray but no ice in the bucket then the ice maker is defective.

Have installed new ice maker in a kenmore bottom freezer. Cannot get water to enter new ice maker to make ice.

You may have froze the water tube while messing with the new one. A quick fix with a hair dryer might do the trick. Also for good measure>>>>

Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work

Water lines to ice maker are clear and pressure is good but the ice maker recieves no water to make ice

Take a 6 inch piece of 14 gauge insulated wire and strip one inch of insulation off both ends of the wire. Bend the wire into a U shape. Remove the plastic cover from the front of the ice maker.Locate the holes marked L and V. Insert the 2 stripped ends of wire into the L and V slots. If you get water, the ice maker is bad. If you do not get water, the water valve is bad.

Ice maker seems to be dripping water onto ice in ice container

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.

If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

Watch it when it fills with water. The fill tube could also be stopped up with ice. The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Kenmore Ice Maker

Sounds like a water valve problem to me. Force the ice maker to cycle. (turn it off and let it get cold for at least an hour then turn it back on). Test for voltage on the ice maker side of the valve. The valve is usually in the back near the floor. Just follow the water line. Another solution. switch the wires on the water valve. then try the water dispenser and see if it makes the ice maker fill up. See if when the ice maker cycles water comes out the door. If the ice maker causes water in the door , replace the valve, If door switch causes ice maker to fill up replace ice maker again.
