Hi, It depends on the age of the desktop. If you can post the make and model we will be able to advise you which type of memory you need and how much memory your system can support. Regards.

What is the make and model? I can suggest better if I can get that info to see if you can expand memory. More Memory is always a good idea if possible.

-> Have you cleaned out your computer lately? -> Have you tried a Disk Defragmentation lately, to see if your computer can be tuned up?
-> Depending on what you are using your computer for, like watching You-tube videos your temporary Internet files can be full... Maybe the video cache is full...
I like to clean up my computer at least once a week with C_Cleaner and Glary... these are two free softwear cleaners and do amazing things to speed up computers.
I would try these products first and if they do not work, then install more RAM.
Good Luck

Why is my text jumping and deleted when i type

this is due to the slow pc issue and virtual memory of the computer. run Ccleaner, check the virtual memory in system properties and set it to 1.5 times the physical memory.
check if the same happens on CMD and notepad. if yes, then you need a driver update on the keyboard.

Have a NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX mothrboard.Does it support gddr5 graphics card

Yes, vipinpabraha.

In fact if they come out with GDDR10, it will support that also.

Why?
Because a graphics card's graphics memory, runs independent of the system resources.

Would not matter if your motherboard used DDR Sdram, and the graphics card uses GDDR5.

(Yes, I know. The Nvidia NForce 780i SLI mobo uses DDR2 Sdram at 800MegaHertz. Or also stated as PC2-6400. Always wanted one of those motherboards)

Integrated graphics, or also known as OnBoard graphics, borrows from the System Resources. The Processor and Ram Memory.
(OnBoard - ON the motherBOARD )

This slows the computer down when using an intensive graphics program, such as an intensive game, for example

A graphics card has it's own Processor (G.P.U.), and graphics ram memory. It doesn't need to borrow from the system resources.

Have 512MB RAM. Was told to max it out because the machine is extremely slow. Has two slots with 256MB. Can I put two 512MB memory modules in those slot to increase 1G or RAM?

yes, after looking up your laptop on hp's website, I have determined the kind of memory you need; (assuming your computer is the one you put in the question, HP Pavilion ze4805us Notebook PC)

you need 2x 512 mb, 200-pin, DDR 266 memory

I looked and found some Corsair (highly respected company in computer memory) memory, for 22.99 for each DIMM (you'll need to buy 2); see link below.

If you have any more questions, please let me know!

Thanks,
Mike

My computer is really slow i noticed i bought an AMD64 but it says my processor is 32 not 64 y

yes i agree with shadowpr, the 32 refers to 32 bit, you may need to run a spyware and virus scan in safe mode (press F8 on start up and highlight start windows in safe mode) or maybe you are low on memory, especially if you are running Vista as sometimes it can be working hard for 5 minutes on boot up causing your system to slow up.

Check what memory you have installed and upgrade if no viruses or spyware are found

Memory card

Yes, it is likely that the larger memory card is slowing your camera down.

Slow computer

Hello,

YOu computer meet the average power requirement nowadays. HOwever if you want to make more faster performance. U only need to add more memory. 1Gb is faster than my computer which is 512Mb.

Ok adding more memory make the computer faster from 1 Gb to 2GB this is much faster.

hard drive is nothing to do with the performance of the system. its only a storage of all files.

but besure to know the model of the memory before you buy. it should be identical to your current memory.

yes, that's why with new computers, it comes with high ram.

In any case, try to clean out your C: do a disk clean up.
remove useless software. Don't archive for faster search (slow computer down)

Slow

Yes. With a typical default configuration you should keep an amount of disk space free on the C: drive as this is where your virtual memory or page file sits. When the computers ram fills up, the OS writes some of that memory to disk (virtual memory) so that it can free up real hardware memory (which is fast) for running apps. When disk space is restricted on the C: drive memory management becomes more innefficient as things need to be erased from memory and then reloaded rather than just swapped from the virtual memory on the disk. Worse than slowness if you completely run out of space your system will freeze up.

You should make sure your c: drive does not fill up. Also if you have another drive (such as a d:drive) with more space you can change where the virtual memory resides and place it there so that it can grow as it needs to.
