Our Mitel system IP phones crash / reboot, usually during a conversation about once per week. It almost always happens during a phone call one phone at a time.

Probably a network issue as the Mitel system will send heartbeats to the phones, if it misses 3 beats consecutively the phones will reboot. If you have access to the mitel check the logs.

    I just re-read your issue...
-> Are the phones that you are using IP, Digital, or analog?
-> You stated that the phones are going down one by one, and not the whole system all at once?

-> Are these phones (if digital or analog) on a pernode?
-> what software level are you running?

-> What type of system is it?
    -> Is it a 200 ICP or 3300 ICP?

-> There are logs in both systems that can at least get you started in the right direction.
-> Is it the phone system that reboots or is it the switch?
-> What do the phones do when this reboot happens?
-> What is the Mitel system doing, is there red lights flashing on the system?

-> Your System reboots once a week, is it the same time and same day... maybe the system reboot has been scheduled for a reboot at that time every week?

SOURCE: mitel 5220 ip phone locked out

Make sure that it is a Dual Mode 5220. If it is you can use it as a SIP extension. It wiill say it on the back of the Mitel phone next to the 5220.
If it is a dual mode phone you can purchase a sip trunk from a provider and then would be able to use the phone.
When you boot up the phone hold the blue super key while the phone boots, hit the no softkey till you get to phone mode. Hit yes it will allow you to change the phone from minet to sip. This should get you started in the right direction.

Mitel phone only operating in 1 direction

Does the phone have a router/firewall/Layer3 data switch between the phone and the controller? If yes I suspect you have blocked UDP IP ports. Here is a wiki on TCP and UDP ports. ports you need open to the controller are specific to your system model. The 5312 phone works on different controllers. Please list the controller type you have. Good Luck.

Mitel Phones throughout the property are trying to get re-booted and all that is displayed is an IP address on line one then "Downloading....60" on line two. After this downloading process gets...

The unfortunate thing here is there is a network disruption caused by the network not set up properly to support VoIP or a problem on the network.
The file it's trying to pull from the phone system is very small, and it uses TFTP. If there's a disruption in the download, it will cause the set to reboot.

You need to contact your system admin or your telephone system vendor and your network admin/vendor to have it resolved.

How do i configure the voicemail on my mitel 5330 ip phone?

Either your on-Site system administrator, or your vendor will have to make the change. This is a system wide setting, not just your phone.

Once the mailbox is set up in the system, dial the access code and the password (default is 1111). Follow the prompts... you are not complete until the guide tells you are.

Good Luck,

On the 5330 i have a Discovery option 128 missing message. There is not a dialtone on the phone, how do I make the phone operational?

I had this problem as well. This is a configuration that needs to be added to your DHCP server to enable the mitel system to obtain an iP address. If you reboot the phone and hold the down arrow it should bring you to a screen you can manually enter the IP address of the network you are useing.

It really depends on how many trunks you have, how many people you have and how efficient they are. It also depends on the system you have, not necessarily the phone the users are using.
You should contact your vendor for helping set up the most efficient method of setting up call handling.
