You should replace the video card with a new video card . I recommend you replace the video card with a NVIDIA video card. (Because NVIDIA is a sponsor of Empire Earth XD, you can see a NVIDIA logo in the Empire earth 2 intro)
I also have this problem. I have a video card Intel Mobile Chipset. I am aware that the Intel Mobile Chipset does not support the effect of an explosion in Empire Earth 2 :(

Your VGA card is a GMA X3100, in the GM965 chipset. You can go to http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-025753.htm to download the drivers and software utility.
the
lack gaming abilities of the X3100 integrated graphics chipset on the
other hand really put a damper on any fun with this notebook. Without a
more powerful dedicated graphics chipset, you won't be able to play
current or even last generation games without horrible frame rates, or
even getting the game to load at all. Another downside to the X3100
graphics on this notebook is the removal of the HDMI port (come
standard in higher configurations), leaving you with only VGA out for
connection to a larger display.
You wont be able to play a "demanding" game on any integrated graphics chip. While you may be able to start the game and load into it, it will be unplayable, or a painful experience at low resolution at best. I play World of warcraft, which isnt very taxing on a system, unless you put settings on ultra and high shadows. I can play it on my laptop with the same chipset that you have, but i am forced to play at the lowest resolution, and turn all settings to off/lowest, and it still only gives me 20ish frames per second. Ideally you would want to never dip below 30 to be playable As far as the HDMI port, that is just how the video signal is being sent after leaving the video card/chip. Even with the HDMI, your lack of dedicated graphics will be your limiting factor, and will not get any better by sending it through HDMI.
its possible if you can find a similar chipset with a higher capacity...but i doubt if you can find one since laptop are built differently from desktop they have exact specifications on the hardware...before getting a new laptop or desktop make sure it has enough power to play your games...hope this helps...ITTech7574
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3100 is an integrated (onboard) graphic chip on a Mobile Intel 965GM (with 500 MHz core speed) and 960GM (400 MHz) chipset (for Merom = Core 2 architecture). it is on a graphics card.
The C700 USES THE INTEL GM965 CHIPSET.
PENTIUM DUAL-CORE T2XX IS A MEROM BASED (C2D) CHIP. MEMORY/WIRELESS CARD/AND GM965 CONTROLLER. GMA X3100 GRAPHICS ARE INTEGRATED.
I would recommend a Dell XPS. They have the 2ghz duo core processor, 4g ram, Intel x3100 acceleration with HD video/graphics card, and a STAC AC97 sound card. This is more than enough machine to keep you in the WOW anywhere for years. These run anywhere from $800 to $1000. Well worth the money.
You can add a PCI video card to free system memory.
I suggest you check your manual. You are looking to see if your bios will allow you to use a PCI video card.
