Question about Canon Cameras

1 Answer

The small sliding bar which operates the closure to the battery compartment on my Canon Ixus 750 Camera has popped out when I tried to open it to replace the battery. It is made of plastic and has two small hooks or lugs on the underside which appear to engage in two holes in the camera. I am having difficulty putting it back and am reluctant to force it in case I break one of the plastic hooks. What is the best way forward?

My lens for my ixus 750 is stuck open. when

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here are some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

Sd 750 can not power on

You may have a more serious problem that will require professional repair, but the problem that you describe is frequently battery related. Make sure that you have the correct battery type installed, and that the batteries are fresh/fully charged. If the problem persists, you may have corrosion on the battery contacts inside that camera that is preventing full battery power from flowing to the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the inside camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sand paper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and reinstall them in the camera. This cleaning solves the problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.

There's a small slide switch on the upper left side of your camera. Slide it all the way to the left to video camera mode. When you want to go back to taking photos, slide it all the way to the right to still picture mode.

Query Regarding No Display on LCD (view finder) in Canon Digital IXUS 750

With the camera on, have you tried pressing the DISP button once? It's the lower left button on the back of the camera. It manually turns the display on or off as desired to save batteries (you can then aim through the optical viewfinder).

Cassette Jam

The most frequent cause of this type situation is not having a power source attached, or a depleted battery pack. Once the power source is available, some models require manually unlatching and opening the cassette compartment cover. When the cover is fully open, the videocassette will eject automatically. Please try the following procedures. 1. Attach the power source to the camcorder correctly or use a fully-charged battery pack. 2. Fully-open the cassette compartment cover until it stops while sliding and holding the OPEN/EJECT switch. The videocassette will eject automatically after a few seconds. If the videocassette still will not eject, seek assistance from a Canon Service Facility.
