A couple of questions first, when you replaced the plug, did you use a Champion RCJ6Y? When you changed the gas lines and filter, did you make sure you put the lines in the correct order (there are 2 lines, one is a supply the other is a return...the supply is usually a smaller diameter than the return and should connect to the bottom port of the carburetor), did you check the cap (there is a filter and a check valve in there, if faulty the cap needs to be replaced)...

MY RYOBI GAS BLOWER AND VAC IS HARD TO START. IT IS NEVER BEEN USED SINCE I PURCHASED IT FROM HOME DEPOT. I HAVE ONLY BEEN ABLE TO GET IT STARTED TWICE AS A TEST START BEFORE USING IT. WHATS THE PRO

Without seeing in my shop it will hard to tell exactly what is going on. I have ran into a couple starting problems with Ryobi blowers. They carburetor were either being over choked or not enough choke. Both were Ruixing carburetors. Something you can try to find out if it is the carburetor into add a little fuel mix directly into cylinder through the spark plug hole.

Depending on how long you have had it, it may still be covered by the warranty and I would check into that if I was you.

I have a Red Max HBZ2600 Z Power blower that starts runs a few minutes then slowly dies. Fixable?

Install a new spark plug

Clean or replace the air filter

Use only gas that is no more than 2 months old
& add fuel conditioner such as Sta-Bil or B&S,
unless you have to mix fuel for a 2 cycle motor

Once running & fully warm, adjust carb screws for
fuel mix at idle & fast rpm, then set the idle

Check for spark with a small engine tool avail for that
It looks like a spark plug with a clip on it & avail many places

May have to remove the carb, clean it & install a new kit,if
you still have problems

Toro Power Clear 418 snowblower wont start after sitting through summer

Check the fuel line to the tank, and see if another one is inside, maybe it fell off, or it's filter is clogged.

I can't get it started

Check 1. Compression 2. Gas/oil mix 3. Air filter 4. Spark at spark plug. This is just the beginning of troubleshooting a 2 stroke. They develop fuel line problems and carburetor problems and magneto air-gap problems. Critical though is the oil/gas fuel mix that is used. It needs to be fresh and mixed at the correct ratio. Check all these things that you can and post back.

Ryobi backpack leaf blower about three years hard to start

Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled
b) is there spark

2) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated
3) Check cylinder compression

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

Won't start --has gas--has spark craftsman leaf bower

most likely the air filter is clogged, take it out blow it out or spray water through it and allow it to dry completely.

alterinavely, just pouring a small amount of gas onto the filter should make it work, i would do that even if you do clean it properly.

this method works for cars too!

String trimmer only runs with choke on

If you have to run with the choke on, it's having problems pulling gas thru the carb.
Start making sure that you're using fresh gas/oil mix. Don't attempt to use last years leftover in the tank or a spare can. Bad news... won't fire well.
Second, pop the carb lines off the carb and flush with carb spray cleaner (use the nozzle tube that comes with the can).
Third, check for cracks, breaks, leaks in the supply and return hoses. Replace any damaged hoses.
Disconnect the carb from the engine and spray all jets, orifices with carb cleaner (I like the Berryman's B-12 spray) and reinstall.
Also, pull the filter out of the air filter and clean, reinstall.
While you're at it, pop the spark plug out and clean the tip with carb spray as well.
Finally pour in a fresh gas/oil mix...start as usual. should be alot better!
