Start coffee machine and electricity of the house got gone

Hi, I wanted to start the coffee machine, but the electricity of the whole house went off right after I pressed the 'start' button. I had tried again, but the electricity still got gone. Its a Delonghi Caffe Corso. We just bought 3 or 4 months ago. can anyone help and tell me what cause that?

Thank you very much in advance!

oh, actually it trips the main breaker to the whole 2nd floor of the house. the electricity for the 1st floor is fine.

I am unsure of the total amp, but its been working well for the past 3 or 4 months, never tripped the main breaker of the 2nd floor until today. after it tripped the main breaker, i turned the main breaker ON, but it triped right after i press the 'start' button of the coffee machine. maybe there's something wrong with the coffee machine?

Thanks for sending me solution again. Before I read what you just sent, I was downstairs with the coffee machine to the downstair. it triped the main breaker of the 1st floor almost at the same time when I pluged. I guess there must be something wrong with the coffee machine then.
Anyhow, thanks again for sending solution to me!!

Yes, I would say so, but it should trip the circuit breaker before it tripped the main breaker. unless the breaker that you have is for all the second floor and you dont have individual circuit breakers. If thats the case then yes the coffee maker is causing the problem. Its pulling more amps than your service has therefore it trips the breaker.

A test you can do, unplug coffee maker and plug in something else in that plug, say vacuum cleaner and see if it trips the breaker.

some liquid is leaking into the electronics or there is a motor gone
or some other leakage to earth of electricity
as i say can be liquid or a motor or a heating element
i think your model heats the milk so i presume some element has failed

I have no power.

Hi I gather that you have checked every plug, valve, outlet and the electricity on the whole. Check if there is a valve in the machine that might have gone. Kolbrun

Mine did it as well. I had an electrician out to check out the outlet. He replaced the outlet, but it still has done it. It freaks me out, so I unplug it after use.

My Francis Francis coffee machine shorts out and fuses all the lights in my house. How can I fix this

I would say that it is probably your heating element. You need to install a GFI in your outlet to prevent an electrical shock, and that will prevent the machine from taking out the whole house, but it will take out anything that is on the same circuit.

I think you have to go to a Saeco service center to fix this, it can be the electric board.
