Question about NEC MultiSync NP2000 LCD Projector

1 Answer

Two projectors controled by one computer and one is fuzzier.

We have two projectors in two rooms divided by an air wall. When the wall is retracted both projections can be seen when the room is combined and one computer is used to run both projectors. When we have it setup this way one picture appears to be fuzzier than the other. Both projectors are brand new so this is not a projector issue. It mat be a splitter issue but would like to know what other possibilities could be causing this. These are NEC projectors controled through an Extron 226 system.

This is only a theory: Assuming that this setup is in an office, there is a high probability that the lighting is fluorescent. This type of illumination is NOTORIOUS for causing AC interference with video signals. It is hard to suppress because there are AC lines *all around* acting like antennas. If you use shielded video feeds, make sure all circuits are properly grounded(and *isolated* in extreme cases) to minimize EFI. (electrical frequency interference) The fact that 2 projectors are connected to a single computer lends credence to an interference problem--grounding is usually the culprit--not the computer, but all the junk connected to the ground wires--fans, lights, air-conditioning motors, refrigerators, you name it...You might want to check into getting a power conditioner or filter to "clean up" the electricity in that particular room. Video and audio signals are delicate--just turn up the sound loud, with nothing being broadcast, and listen to the AC hum in the static. Those are my thoughts anyway...hope I was useful!---rick

Why did fan and lights stop working?

If you are controlling lights and fan only with the remote - no problem. Once you start flipping switches, the remote control loop is broken. You can restore remote control by setting the wall switches to off, turning off power at the circuit breaker (or fuse), and waiting for a few minutes during which you will be removing the battery from the remote and pushing all buttons, then reinstalling the battery. When time is up, restore power and try the remote. If no luck, check to be sure the wall switches are set to off and repeat the routine.

We have a projector screen that was pulled out to far. It is a wall mounted one. It will not retract

This could be one of two things.
1. The coil spring in the housing is wound so tight it wont release the pawls and allow it to retract.
2. The coil spring has come loose and has no tension on it.
Take it down from the wall and see if the end caps come off to show the pawls. You may be able to release them with a screwdriver.

How do I calculate square feet of a room for wallpaper

Measure the length and width of each wall, and then add up the resulting answers. So, if a wall is 9' tall and 12' wide, it is 108 sq feet. If another wall is 9' tall and 11' wide, it is 99 square feet. Your total would now be 99 + 108 or 207 square feet.

If you are doing it in feet and inches, you have to covert the inches to feet by dividing them by 12, since there are 12' in a foot. So with 3", divide 3 by 12 and get 0.25.

Is it ok to use a curtain as a room divider?

You can use a curtain as a room divider but I don't recommend itbecause curtains collect dust. Also, room dividers are a great way to make a small room feel bigger where arecurtains just close the room off.

How do you calculate the cfm in a swamp cooler

Hi,

You will need to figure the cubic feet of space you want to cool, and then divide that number by two. The quotient will give you the CFM rating for the proper-sized swamp cooler.

The projector is not giving a bright picture. The image on the wall is very dim

I you were using the projector in the same room with the same ambient light and if you notice this problem try increasing brightness, if still the brightness is not sufficient then it is time to replace the projector lamp.

If you have moved your projector to a different place, check if the existing light / ambient light in that room is making the image look dull / not so bright. If this is the case, try to reduce the ambient light

That unit was not designed to be installed on an "interior" dividing wall between two rooms. Only on an exterior wall. There in lies the problem.

Da Lite projector screen will not retract. It is pulled all the way down

After pulling the screen down to the desire length, The mechanism will lock itself once you stop pulling.

To retract it, you need to pull the cord down again and allow the screen to retract on its own. The screen will retract rapidly at first but will slow down to a gentle stop when it reaches the case.

Try it.
