Re: dv-605 kenwood

I have a similar issue with my DV-605 as well. When the unit power on, I can hear the motor trying to start, but the DVD does not spin. Being the adventurous type, I opened the case and turned the DVD drive motor a few revolutions by hand and then the dvd played. I think I need a new DVD drive motor. You may as well....

Panasonic BTT268 tray wont open

Dear Scott,

If there is a CD stuck inside a CD/DVD reader, you could try using a medium sized paper clip straightened up. Insert it in the small hole in the front of the DVD player bezel and push it till it opens the mechanism. Please, have a look at:

The problem can also be caused if one of the rubber band that moves the DVD drive "door" has dried out, or even if the power supply in not properly connected to the drive.

Hope you may find this info hopeful!

Burnt DVDs will not play

It is possible that you're player will not play burned DVD's. If you have the manual...or even on the front panel of the player, it should say that it can play DVD-/+R, DVD-/+RW, or even DIVX.

Also, have you tried to play it in your PC to make sure it can play?

Hope this helps

Disc tray does not come out, display say hello

There is a flex cable that attaches the tray assy to the main pcb ,make sure that has not pulled out, also see if tray tries to move at all as it may need the mechism realigned and the open/close switches cleaned. Also the is a gear that turns the tray that has broken teeth on,check that gear ,as tray must turn before unit will intalize

Re: Kenwood DV 605 CD Player... Power On: Reads "Loading." All 5 CD lights are lit up but the CD changer does not turn. CD #1 appears on screen with two green lights appearing.

ace71cf.jpg We repaired this problem by taking the advice of another member of FixYa! The component had recently been packed to be shipped. After unpacking the unit when we powered up the read out only displayed "LOADING" and the CD changer door would not open. We removed the exterior cover and gently moved the CD changer one position. When it locked back into position we powered up and the unit works fine now. FixYa sure help me save perhaps a $100. or more by not sending it to the manufacturer or another shop. And it was working within minutes so we could enjoy using it right away. Thanks guys I very much will recommend this sevice to others... this was the 2nd problem we fixed that day by logging onto FixYa!!!

Tray will not open on my dv-605

Solution: Unplug power from wall. (Don't just turn off!) Next: Remove exterior case. Now gently turn the CD changer clockwise one position. Power up and try again.

I had this same problem after unit appeared to have froze up when unpacked from a shipping box. The CD changer had got off track and by gently moving the CD changer 1 position it fixed the problem. Works fine now.

Best of luck,

I just fixed mine. Same scenario, with the loading and #1 displayed. The tray changer was jammed.

Take the cover off the unit and gently convince the changer to spin. It will go *crack* and then exhibit free-play. Turn the machine back on and voila it works.

I'm now watching Braveheart on 480p on 55"widescreen!!!!!
