A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I had the same problem and after reading and trying allot of disks I found the following to work.
Used Maxell - RW disk. Did a complete format on my computer (takes a while). Burned a DVD using Vista DVD burner with only a Jpg as per one of the other posts. Once the disk plays. Stop and goto disk management and format using DVD-V (VR did not work).
I know its not pretty but at least its better than throwing it in the garbage bin.

Do you still have the instruction manual for the machine? It's covered in the manual. Basically Panasonic assume that you have more than one of their machines in the room, and want you to be able to use two similar but different remotes with two similar but different machines.
Call one machine DVD1 and the other DVD2 - there's a menu option to change them within the 'setup' menus. You change the remote setting by the process outlined in the other solution here, and in the manual.
There's probably a pdf download of the manual at a Panasonic site somewhere.....

You need to go into the menu and set the "av-2 out put" to DTV, that should solve the problem, remembering to connect the "in" scart on the recorder to AV-2 on the tv.If there is only 1 scart on the recorder it will be a 2 way connection, sending and recieving a signal.
